Well, that should definitly be added as an example under the Religion header then and if everything works out, it becomes the Trope Namer as well.
^Only it's not a religion trope. Just because The Bible may serve as a Trope Namer, that doesn't immediately make a trope with a name originating from it about religion.

Sorry... I misstated myself. I meant that the cited example from Elijah should be listed on the trope page itself in the (as yet non-existing) Religion folder, where it could then also serve as the Trope Namer.
I dislike Self Appointed Successor because it sounds like it's more about the character than the event.
Fight smart, not fair.Awkward Application Of Added Alliterative Appeal is gold. Except it's not awkward, that's pretty good. I agree though, people stretch too far for AAA a lot.
Maybe Awkward Acrobatics For? Hehe.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.See, BlackWolfe? Once you mentioned that Taking Up the Mantle is a term already in use, it's taken the lead. A bunch of people switched their vote on it.

I kind of like Taking Up the Mantle. Say, while we're waiting for the new name to be decided, do you guys want to someone (like, say, me, being the humble originator of this trope) to put in a re-written definition? I can think up quite a few proper examples too...
Hi, I'm X Ray 2. I'm a high school student, and I am AWESOME.Taking Up the Mantle, definitely. Covers all bases and possible reasons why it might happen, doesn't specifically restrict it to one of the several Sister Tropes, etc.
Oh a side, admittedly mostly unrelated, note, why do we not have a page for the sibling trope relationship? Seems like a page laying out the concept would be useful.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Ummm... Not sure, really. I don't think I've ever seen the phrase "sister trope" and thought "does that mean what I think it means?"
But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold.A Sister Trope is a trope that's related to another trope but doesn't really fit as either a Super-Trope or a Sub-Trope. They tend to overlap a little, but not completely, like Ven Diagrams.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI think we have a consensus for Taking Up the Mantle.
Self Appointed Successor should be a redirect.
This space for rent. Cost: your soul.Sorry for double post - I just wanted to highlight that I went ahead and did the page move to Taking Up the Mantle (and added Self Appointed Successor as a redirect).
Anything more need to be done? Perhaps a separate thread should be started if we want to address the description?

I'm aware of what a sister trope is, is what I was saying.
Guess we need to change the caption too. Right now it pretty much Mind Screw. Proposing to change it to "There is always Batman" or something like that.
The world will always need Batman.

O_O Huh. Older than I thought. It's from a Bible quote
