Wow, that first article was astonishingly assumptive. "Purple ponies must represent black people!" They're fucking ponies! "The only black ponies are servants!" They look gray to me and they aren't exactly "servants," they're soldiers guarding the princess. "The ponies with a rainbow mane must be a lesbian and also this is stereotyping lesbians as tomboys!" WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF?!?! And all the pictures are from the website— I get the impression the author didn't even watch the show! Way to research.
The response article was pretty classy, focusing on the merits of the show and the effort behind it, although it's also kinda sad. Execs not wanting to do an epic cartoon for girls because "the ratings aren't there" sucks royally, and I don't think it's true. As a little girl I LOVED "boys" cartoons because they had humour, action, intriguing storylines, and distinctive characters. I know I'm not the only one. But then, this isn't the place to moan about that.
Props to Faust.
Worth mentioning that Faust got an appology from the website owners.
Lauren should have brought The Powerpuff Girls into the scene against this critic.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/And then of course there's the end of Sonic Rainboom...
So maybe her barn door swings both ways?
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderHer rebuttal made sense regardless of whether she's gay or not, as it should.
"She is a tomboy, but nowhere in the show is her sexual orientation ever referenced. As we all know, there are plenty of straight tomboys in the world, and assuming they are lesbians is extremely unfair to both straight and lesbian tomboys"
Let's make a TCG!Threesome?
I have a reason to believe that she went and found the other 4 Wonderbolts afterwards and had a full on orgy.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderYer daaaaaaaamn skippy.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderThis interview
made her seem all the more awesome to me. Turns out a lot of my favorite parts in Cats Dont Dance were her idea.
Well I have already seen one episode and thought it was adorable and generally enjoy seeing the ponies and have for a while now...Now I'm just going to actually watch the shit beyond said one episode.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahYeah, you don't mess with Lauren Faust unless you want to walk away with your tail in between your legs.
...It would've been better if she pointed out the logical fallacy that Ms. Richter used in her (FIRST!) argument, though. :/
Hell hath no fury like a computer science student bored.I will just leave this here

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.

Some Woman named Kathleen Richter called the new My Little Pony Show "My Little Homophobic, Racist, Smart-Shaming Pony" in this article
