There’s a chance those might also be coming eventually
Oh right the Remastered Project is a thing now. Hopefully it won't just be Graces and the Xillias. There's other games needing fixing up and HOPEFULLY Namco will read the room and not just shit them out the way they did Symphonia.
Hell if we're lucky...we might even get the mythical Abyss remaster after all. Years too late for its 10th but still
Are explosions science?@Ayumi-chan I wouldn’t say I’ve completely fallen off but it’s been a long time since there was a Tales game that I have actually felt positive on. Though I still ultimately liked Arise. I really hope the next game is better.
Also yeah I remember really not liking the story and characters for Graces F (except Pascal, she’s great) but I’m willing to give it another shot

GUNDAMU GUNDAMUI'll be sleeping until there's announcements about ports (NOT remasters, please no do not touch their stories) of Destiny R, 2, or Rebirth. Or even a port of Narikiri Dungeon. It's nice Graces is getting some love but it's the same song and dance as usual from Bamco where they try to pretend the 2D games don't exist despite them being massively popular in Japan.
EDIT: I'd take Tempest R too, but I know deep down there's no chance in hell.

Oissu! Its the moment to say: about friggin' time!
Its been what, 15 years since the original Wii Graces? And 13 since it was localized. 'You want Graces? Go buy a PS 3'. The same song and dance as Vesperia, 'go buy an Xbox'. But lets not remember now the darkest era of the Tales fandom...
Ok, I vented. And the Xillias could be coming too? Even better. Take all the Tales from the era when Baba had an obsessive fetish with Sony and put them everywhere

You literally read my mind. Agree with absolutely all thats said in that post.
Now, what has Life Bottle been doing again? The last video uploaded on their Youtube channel was in early summer... and assured us on the progress of several projects, including... yes, Rebirth's translation. At this moment I would take either the PS 2 or PSP version.

Copying from one place is plagiarism. If its from several, its 'research'.The encounters in Graces aren't "random", per se, you can see the enemies on the Overworld and with some skill, avoid them completely, save some time. That system was in place since Symphonia (though some games still have true blue random encounters.)
Although this system seems to just turn off overworld enemy hitboxes. Handy either way.

Are explosions science?I've only ever played the really bad GBA version of Tales of Phantasia (never finished it either) so I'd love to get my mitts on X.
I wonder if they'd consider a Remaster of the Remake of Tales of Destiny as well.
One Strip! One Strip!Legendia also came out shortly after Symphonia too, didn't it?
And I think it was done by a different studio as well.
One Strip! One Strip!
Worse than that, it came out the same year as Abyss. Poor game got devoured and overshadowed by its cooler older brother. Fortunately Legendia was my first game in the series, so I was completely unbiased going in. also helps it was one of my first J Rpgs ever, along with Pokemon Ruby and FFX
I don't dislike Legendia, but I don't think it's as good as the games either before or after. I also think it's one of the weaker games to actually play.
I also remember how bad the Arena in Legendia was. Mages were terrible in that game, and half your party were mages.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.It has great, colorful cast and amazing music but is so obviously flawed. Its why for years I hoped they would revisit it to give it the attention it deserved, but alas.
Maybe what i want is more akin to a remake than a remaster, since voicing the 2nd half of the game and possibly introducing proper mystic artes seems a lot more labor intensive than simple QOL features.
Probably its on my mind because I recently playeda VN inspired by Legendia, Soul of Sovereignty, and the memories and nostalgia are still fresh.

My personal (unrealistic) wants would be as follows:
- Port and translate only, change nothing:
- Tales of Destiny R
- Tales of Destiny 2 (probably needs gameplay updates but they'd find a way to ruin the story so best to leave it alone)
- Tales of Rebirth
- Tales of Phantasia Narikiri Dungeon X
- Remaster: Honestly with the state of most Tales "remasters" don't do this at all, but I expect any of the above category would more realistically get this treatment and so ship with a plethora of bugs and broken features. But at least they won't ruin the stories so hey! There's that!
- Remake:
- Tales of the Tempest (has so many problems + is a very short game, would need a total gameplay overhaul and 10+ hours more of story content)
- Tales of Legendia (doesn't play like any other Tales game, lacks multiplayer, needs more vocal work done)
- Tales of Eternia (Gameplay aged like milk + needs vocal rework, only bring back Kevin Miller [they won't, they are too cheap, but on the 1% chance they aren't keep Kevin Miller] and recast everyone else)

Oissu! So Namco put out an article going over all the new stuff the Graces remaster will have.
Notably, the Grade Shop is available on a first playthrough, which I don't recall a Tales game doing like, at all before this point?
Furthermore it mentions certain former Japan-only skits get new English voice work, stating they'd get all the old english V As back! I mean they had Bryce Papenbrook for Arise so he'd be easy. But at the same time I'll be pissed if they somehow fail to bring back Kate Higgins for Pascal, she MADE Pascal to me. That said they are upfront about not getting Laura Bailey as Cheria back for these ones (its Alexis Tipton yet again)
