I thought the west didn't get Graces Wii because Graces Wii was a glitchy mess.

@Flight: To be honest you do used to go on about things like "nintendrones" and "sony ponies" and went on about Sony exclusives in a tiring manner.

And yeah wii Graces was buggy as piss. We had the added advantage of not only having a bug fixed version but one with an extra story (albeit a rather crap one.)

Also, PAL regions had to wait a whole year for Symphonia 2, lets not forget. I think a lot of complainers in regards to lack of ports or region availability are very US centric. (oh jeez i'm probably doing it now)

I'll have to wait and see what the cast is like, but if its the Zestyverse again, I'll pass. Like I said before, I do not like the setting for that series.

Same, hard pass if this is Zesty 3 because I couldn't care less about that world.

and : calling Graces Wii a 'glitchy mess' is a gross exaggeration. Like Lu's statement of being able to 'beat the Golden Magic Knight in Unknown while sleep-deprived and playing with my feet'... or something. I mean, the glitches only affect the transferal of certain Grade bonuses. It is perfectly playable.

And yes, I have been a bit overly agressive with my opinions regarding ports. *bows head* But yeah, there is one community that has been even MORE mistreated that Nintendo owners.

And that is... Western gamers!

Quick, someone call Doctor Strange! The dimensional walls are crumbling... Bizarro World's events are being leaked into our universe! Yesss. Now is the time to ask for Tales characters in Smash! Or to ask for an otherwise impossible localization like Destiny R or the Vita games on Switch!

Yeah well we're only gonna get the lame MCU/MVCI Strange and not the comics version. I don't want sling ring rubbish I want the original glyphs and stuff.

Anyway I doubt we'll get any Tales rep in this Smash game as much as I want it, Velvet sure as shit has no chance, everyone's made sure of that which leaves only Cress, Lloyd and Yuri. Cress and Lloyd because they're emblematic of Nintendo's history (SNES and Gamecube) and Yuri because he's the lame super boring Easy Modo option.

They already threw a bone at Lloyd in the form of a Mii outfit. We ain't getting any better than that.

I mean, we got Pacman as a Namco rep. Then we got Cloud Strife. Cloud Strife. And Joker... and more recently BANJO. From Microsoft's 2nd party Rare. We are at the point where anyone can be put in. Next we know the Void of Dimensions collapses and we get Goku or Spiderman.

The bad part about the Normal and Bizarro Worlds mingling is... events that should have been totally logical and sensible in our world never happened. *cough* Symphonia Chronicles on Wii U *cough* Hearts and Innocence on 3DS *cough* *licks a mint candy*

Whoa, I forgot I had a Hearts progress card:

Western port: Kohaku's spirune compass has detected one in the midst of the sea. We meet Garnet again and he offers to help... but then Innes captures Kohaku while we were looking the other way and hands her to Elite Unit's Silver, Garnet's real identity. He and his special unit want to use Zeroms to rewrite the world. And Richia, who has the power to subjugate them, is the key. Incarose also appears to taunt Shing, and Innes is left behind to kill us.

Boss battle. Innes is slow, but hella strong. Chalcy replaced Kohaku in my team this time and he did pretty good. After losing, she reveals she wants to 'save' Silver from the revenge and hatred in his heart. We need a ship to enter the Elite Unit's secret base, and Ultra Marine provides it after Innes... negotiates. She also provides a poison that will give us a cardiac arrest strong enough to be undetectable by the army's magistone radars.

Lignatore fortress, take 2: Silver leaves Kohaku in Strigov's hands, who tortures her like a pro. We go to the underground level, and Innes lets us inside a cutely decorated room. It's Lapis', the liutenant's daughter. After her father failed testing a mana cannon she lost her heart's core and never awakened. Later we find the brunette and give that Gilland wannabe a whooping. Even further down is the big fish Silver, who fuses with a mother zerom to fight us and... whoa...

Kohaku regained the spirune of Love, the last one. Wham Episode out of nowhere! All actors are in the stage. The Final Boss has revealed himself. Tons of background info and lore. And our team ends up scattered around the planet. Shing and 3 more are gonna take a ship to a new continent.

Pretty sure Sakurai already said no to anime and comic characters.

Anyway Lloyd is probably the better bet since he has greater international presence than even Cress did even if Cress has more of a place in history if that makes any sense.

Cress is the originator, but Lloyd was the one who broke out in terms of popularity worldwide due to Symphonia's relative success on the Gamecube. Still wasn't super huge I think, but he is definitely one of the more recognizable Tales leads.

Yeah, it'd actually be pretty foolish to use someone like Yuri. Yeah he's popular but he's still just flotsam compared to the history Lloyd has behind him.

This is true...

...even if your grudge against Yuri is as big as my grudge against MCU Peter Quill.

• The engine is indeed Unreal 4.

• 2D anime cutscenes are still going to be in the game.

• Composer hasn't been announced yet. Is Sakuraba finally on his way out?
• Dahna has the culture of the Middle Ages. Rena is more scientifically and magicaly advanced. Rena conquered Dahna 300 years ago and enslaved the people of Dahna.
• The male protagonist is from Dahna and the female protagonist is from Rena. They do not get along at the start.
• "Battles are Tales-esque action battles against enemies and encounters. The theme here is to give new users the feeling of “an exhilarating battle.” We’re going for battles with more intuitive and speedier action that makes you think “this seems fun” just by looking at it."
• Enemies are going to look more intimidating than in past titles. Personally, I'm kind of disappointed at this, as the silly enemy designs are one of the highlights of the series for me.

Anyway the new Rays content is out. Y'all very likely forgot but since Rutee's old VA Yuka Imai retired, she's now voiced by Yuka Komatsu although Rays has a VA toggle option if you prefer Imai. Komatsu is obviously gonna voice all the new content tho.

So no Inomata or Fujishima? What has the new guy done regarding past works?

It's gonna be uncanny having realistic graphics for most of the game and then BAM, anime cutscene...

It can still be a (spiritual) successor to Destiny or Eternia. Both earthlings and Aetherians as well as Inferians and Celestians were at war.

Layve: misty village in middle of nowhere. We find Chalcy here working as waiter(?) to pay for Kohaku's clinic bills. Doctor Tek has healed her but to pay the doctor's exhorbitant bill... he offers a deal: heal a patient that's been 17 years in a coma for him. With somas. That's cake for our heroes, so they go inside the old man and... we discover he's Emperor Zircon Tormaline, old veteran from the unification war. We learn how Creed and Richia jumped inside Shing and Kohaku's unborn bodies. Shing gets depressed and wants to forsake his quest, but the girl bitchslaps him. Then they go to a sightseeing hill and make peace with their pasts and between themselves. We go back to recruit Innes, but still no trace of Kunzite.

Straga, take 2: We stumble upon pirates in the way to the continent. Innes and Richia are being assulted! Our party helps them and they get reunited. Finally at the harbor, Chalcy learns that his cronies Byrox and Peridot are going to be executed for helping him! He escapes during the night to do the saving alone. We arrive at the city and Peri meets us, saying we need to infiltrate again through a different part of the sewers. UGH, sewers. We emerge on Akerman's office.

(We rescue Byrox and some nameless knights, then we dart to the main square to save Chalcy who was about to be blown by Grossular with Byrox's stolen soma. Having done that, we follow the original plan of going to the siblings' hometown to find a super strong willstone.)

Precarious situation sounds bit like exaggeration unless PS 5 and whatever next xbox is are also handhelds <_<

Both companies have a history of chasing Nintendo's coattails (PS 3 Move fidgets embarrassed in its seat while Kinect's 3 year old rotted skeleton ferments a bit more)

So I wouldn't put it past them to try to ape the Switch at this point since its done gangbusters.

I seriously doubt PS 5 and Scarlet are going to be hybrids. That would be forsaking the power race and admiting Nintendo's way was the one to go. And once they lose the power edge over Nintendo consoles... what do they have? 1st party IP's? Pfff.

Mount Bremenn: Beryl is scared shitless of the lightning, and with reason. We can't pass until we activate some rods to catch stray bolts. Chlorseraph appears, having just smashed Kunzite agaisnt the rocks. Hisui causes a flood that makes him, Richia and Kunzite temporally unavailable. We catch up to them later and fight the mechanoid. Geez, he is a combo machine, bu we have higher numbers AND 2 healers. Kohaku ends up seriously injured and Beryl suggests taking her to her home town.

Blancheville: we meet Heliodora, Grandma Benito. Beryl is ashamed of having been forced to come back before fulfilling her dream, and her master Aragon taunts her. Suddenly, a plague of despir! We register every nook for zeroms, but they aren't inside a living being. They are inside the biggest most important picture ever made by Grandpa Benito, Beston. We exorcize the painting and Beryl admits that her grandpa was not an asshole who only cared about work.

Still wouldn't surprise me if they did tho. They got pretty shameless with those aforementioned peripherals.

also considering that one Ragna X Velvet pic I found a while back, nobody ever paired Velvet with Scorpion or Hisako and they're pretty damn vengeance minded themselves.
