I agree with most of the others... as long as you avert Ending Fatigue somehow (or lampshade/deconstruct it until it Crosses the Line Twice, though you can say goodbye to your Fourth Wall if you go that route), making the last book in your series the longest is pretty much expected by your audience, and good from a writing standpoint because it gives you extra time and space to make sure your fans get the closure they want (with the exception of that Sequel Hook of course, and if they're really fans they won't want it to end and therefore won't mind the possibility of a sequel).

...and have multiple arcs? I was thinking of having the final book in my series being the longest book. Like, it would be separated into multiple arcs, each showing the lives of the different species as they prepare for the inevitable war against themselves.
All the arcs would be occurring simultaneously, and it would end with one big arc that concludes most of the whole series.
I was wondering if this would be sorta inconsistent with the rest of the series.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...
