[up][up] This is the Internet. Google "words that begin with L".

[up] Or Pennsylvania, depending on where you look.

That gave me a bunch of L words that didn't sound cool though. This way filtered them out.

Also, Huaxia is a name sometimes used to make clear the difference between the "civilized" people in ancient China and the "barbarians". That'd be just about perfect, thanks to the connotations.

I was going to ask which portions of China the rebellious faction began in - there's one book I remember in which part of the backstory was that the Manchurian province rebelled and then conquered the rest of the country such that it is now known as Manchuria - but I like the sound of that too.

[up][up] I should've known that. Although you can also Google "unusual words that begin with L" or something and get this list, which includes words like Lunisolar.

[up] ...I'm not sure. I haven't thought that far ahead yet. Although even if/when I pin down a specific location, I'll most likely stick with Huaxia. I like the sound of that.

Okay. Uh.

We have humans which have access to a dreamworld along with pretty much all living creatures and gods.

However, there are a few that do not share this connection. Many find them to be uncanny valley for reasons that they cannot put their finger on it.

What to call these?

I kind of want to call them fae, but... they don't really have anything to do with fairies :/

I would prefer not to use something that sounds derogatory.

Maybe something being 'dull' or 'blunt'?

Perhaps 'sleepers', because they just sleep as opposed to going to a dream world?

Be not afraid...

No, a sleeper is already a thing in this story.

Before you ask, dreamers are also, along with lucids.

Insomniacs. I figure everyone else in the story figures that if they can't dream they might as well be awake.

But they do sleep.

They don't dream, either, but there are a lot of other things that can cause people not to dream.

Alright, I need a name for the creatures in my setting that are like the Lusus Naturae from Homestuck in that they're both horrid aberrations of nature (The main character has one that's a snake with antennae, six stubby legs, tentacle beard and six nostrils) and that they pretty much raise the kids until their sixteen to eighteen and then they pretty much become battle companions. They're ALWAYS the opposite gender of the child they raise and they have two forms: Their normal-sized form, and a travel-friendly form.

I need a name for a divine mead or any such spirit usually imbibed by the Norse pantheon.

If there is such a drink from actual Norse myth, that'd be even better.

The mead of poetry bring people inspiration. I just want something that'll turn my Never Gets Drunk character into a lumbering oaf who punches and kisses people at random.

...seriously? -_- Booooooooring...

Anyway, that's kind of the default state for Norse gods. They don't need mead to do that.

But my character isn't a Norse god. He's a stoic, genetically engineered super-soldier.

My point was that there wouldn't be a mead in Norse mythology that does that. And if there was, you wouldn't be able to tell.

I suppose you could just call it mead. Or Asgardian mead, if you want something a bit more distinctive.

[up][up] Ah, quite so. I just thought there had to be a Norse legend involving a crafty brewer in it somewhere.
