Admit it. You were thinking it.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderThe Metroid "You just got a new powerup!" theme.
doo-dee-doo-dee-dee-doo, dee-doo-dee-doo-dee-doo
God, I love that jingle.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.![]()

Okay, that's pretty nice.
But try and top...this!

"Daaah DAAH dah dah DAHHH. DAHHH."
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI prefer this one.

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadThe deciding factor in getting Sonic Gems Collection
. Yeah, the Sonic 1 / 2 Invincibility is classic, recognizable even to non-fans, but Sonic CD (USA)'s is my favorite by far.
I miss the original Pokémon Level Up theme. Yeah, I know it's screechy, and it's technically in the later games as an obtained item sound, but it was empowering.
Oh, and:
ALL RIGHT! FIRST PLACE!!
Sonic CD's American soundtrack in general is awesome and unfortunately underrated.

You know what I mean. They're not true bgms or stage musics - they're only a few second minimusics that play when you get a certain thing or succeed or fail or whatever.
Maybe they repeat over and over, maybe they don't, but in any case you can't help but go "oh yeah" once they play, no matter how short it is.
For me, my absolute favorite is the Game Over theme
from Sonic 3 (or was is Sonic and Knuckles?). I remember I once accidentally ran out of retry time just listening to the music.
Also love victory themes (who doesn't?). DK's might've been best in SSBM
, but nothing beats the original Kirby Dance
(well, actually, I prefer the one in Kirby's Adventure). The one in SSB 64 is pretty good too.
And of course, everybody loves the Starman
, regardless of whether it's the back for a melody or just it's own jingle.
Though, speaking of awesome invincibility themes.
