Yeah, with Other M the lack of mention of The Chozo was conspicious, since it's theoretically an exploration of her as a character and about her backstory. Surely the topic should have come up at least once.
Leviticus 19:34I can see how the oversight happened since Other M was so big it was at risk of being too big for the disc and it already didn’t have time for the subplots it was trying to do, cough cough the Deleter. But, yes, it’s a stunning oversight considering how huge the Chozo are for Samus’ backstory

This is an outrage against Luminara!Samus has two bird dads, a computer mom, two dead human parents, and a computer dad made out of her military father figure. She has many parents but most of them are dead.

After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. My one and only Fate servent.I swear I once saw this "My Parents Are Dead!" Batman image
◊ redone with Samus in place of Batman, but now I can't find it, so maybe I didn't.

Other M explores Samus' time during the Galactic Federation, which isn't something the manga had cover in depth. After all, the whole story takes place on Galactic Federation facility and Federation-based locations have the least amount of Chozo references. Sure there was Chozo references in Fusion... if you lived in Japan and unlocked the secret endings. And these weren't really connected to the story of Fusion as a whole. Only the instruction manual mentions Chozo creating the Metroid to combat the X Parasites. And that's if you have the manual. Otherwise on the BSL ship, it's all Galactic Federation shenanigans.
So really, all you need for Chozo mentions to go up is for Samus to land on a planet that the Chozo colonized on.
And as we all know, Chozo love to put self-destruct Earth-Shattering Kaboom on the planets they live on.
We should probably talk about The Chosen One trope. I feel this is very often mishandled. Specifically, people say that someone is "The Chosen One" but we rarely ever learn how this whole Chosen One bit gets started. What I mean by that is, a random character will saw that someone is a chosen one, usually mentioning a prophecy, but it's incredibly rare we will find the origin of the prophecy. Did someone have a vision of the future, where they saw the chosen one do the thing they are supposed to do? That would be something, but media often just ignore this, and we never find out where the prophecy comes from. All that to say, I hope that in Beyond we find out who first came up with the notion of Samus being a chosen one, either because someone had a vision showing her helping them, which is kinda likely if the natives of Viewros have psychic powers, or they know she will save them because of time travel shenanigans.
So, Nintendo Direct tomorrow. We still don't have a release date for Metroid Prime 4 yet. They may not want us to know the date until we also know the date of the Switch 2. For reasons. I have a hunch we'll see Prime 4 brought up as an example of the Switch 2 being backwards compatible with Switch 1 games, and maybe showing how Switch 1 games will be enhanced on the Switch 2.
"Nintendo doesn't announce release date for mega popular multiplatform game because it shares release date with new console" is exactly what they did with BOTW.
You are not alone.

“Adam was like the critical, controlling dad I never had”
“What about the Chozo?”
“They’re like the good dads I did have.”
