If the question means, "What do people in-universe regard as her greatest accomplishment?" then I'm pretty sure the answer is,
"That depends on what you think would make a TERRORIST great. Is it the planets she's destroyed or our military installations that she MURDERED? You tell me which of her countless crimes deserves the most commendation."
Prior to the events of Fusion that answer was probably something different but at this point I'm sure the PR machine is working overtime against her. Like, there's probably reports about how she committed genocide against the Metroid population all on her own initiative and her name has been conspicuously erased from records of Mother Brain's defeat and replaced with the vague, "an agent of the Federation", that sort of thing.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.In Metroid II's defense, it was written at a time when endless franchising wasn't really a thing that every story ever made receives. They weren't especially concerned with preserving the potential for future sequels in the 90's.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I've had some ideas about that.
We've seen other varieties of Metroids on planets such as Tallon IV and Elysia, and they're not nearly as powerful as the classic ones. Would it be too weird to sorta imply that it was specifically the nigh-invulnerable, dinosaur-mutating SR388 variety that was considered a threat to galactic peace, and thus only the SR388 variety that Samus actually extincted? Then you can have the other Metroids still appear without having to explain that they were cloned from THE BABY or somesuch.
Perhaps the weaker xenomorphic Metroids are degenerated descendents of the powerful SR388 strain, or perhaps inversely the Chozo bioengineered the SR388 strain from the weaker Metroids.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! In fairness, even the threat to galactic peace doom metroids of SR-388 aren't that hard (for Samus) to kill with the right equipment.
Sorta don't really get their hype.
I mean, except the Super Metroid Ze Baby which was immune to ice. But not to rainbows.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe did. Mother Brain lost the rainbow beam when the Metroid munched on her skull. She had to resort to spamming blueberry Cheerios while the infant was busy transferring the rainbow beam to Samus...somehow.
Frankly, this entire fight was part of a nutritious breakfast.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Oh yeah. I forgot.
That's even sillier.
The blueberry cheerios were a much less impressive attack than the rainbows or even the pots of gold
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAfter the events of Fusion Samus is a walking container for metroid genetic material. Anyone who wants to make their own metroids just have to track her down capture her and take some of her genetic material to make their own metroids. I mean, that doesn't sound like it would be too difficult, does it?
Apparently, absorbing the SA-X at the end of Fusion fully restored Samus' DNA and scrubbed all the Metroid-ness from her being.
This series has a bad habit of wiping out Metroids multiple times.

I sure said that!It restored her body's DNA. Keep in mind that her suit also had Metroid DNA integrated into it to facilitate absorbing the X Parasite into her body in the first place, and that it only worked because her suit was already integrated with her DNA.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Given that the suit still remains the same after restoring Samus (but with the old color scheme instead), I'd think that absorbing the last bit of Samus' stolen DNA allowed the suit to repair her body and just cycle out the remaining Metroid DNA back into itself.
Basically the suit would be the reason why she isn't a fucking grotesque monstrosity after absorbing so many different X Parasites with a whole ton of different species.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I still hope we get to see those later Metroid stages in 3D one of these days.
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite. So, for a fanfiction, I need to think of an official title for the Zebesians/space pirates. I'm thinking:
"The Zebesian Hegemony"
Leviticus 19:34Yellow and blue recovered damage, green ammo, red both. The loss of the suit's functionality was the result of pieces being cut out out her/it, core X restores some functionality, doing what the yellow, green and red do on a larger scale.
X are the monsters that eat DNA, Metroids are the ones that eat energy. Solid gives them indigestion and DNA, as a form of matter rather than energy, would likely fall into the latter category (either A: giving Metroids gas and bloating, B: being turned disintegrating dust strands, or C: both)
