I'm imagining a Fallout-like situation where you can optionally have partners (up to some small number, say, one or two) follow you on certain missions, or you can choose to go it alone. There could also be mission-chains involving particular characters that you'd have to have them along for if you want to do them, like helping Spire find his people.
Or you could be a lonesome space superhero and stick to rolling the Pirates up, planet by planet.
I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with giving Samus partners for a game. True, it might not keep the same sense of isolation that the main series has, but it'd need to have a more focused narrative to function as a proper RPG anyway I think.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!People disliked the slender design because it made Samus seem less like a walking tank which is what she traditionally is.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!^^Maybe Federation genetically modifies their soldier like supermarines in Warhammer 40,000?
Seriously though, that isn't problem with suit design, that is problem with scale itself :P
^Sleeker designs is the future!
...Also my favorite suit is Fusion Suit so I don't care xP

Fusion Suit's Varia version looks like someone threw up on Samus.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I personally don't care whether the suit is bulky or sleek, though I do prefer the latter when it comes to power suits. Weapons on the other hand...
The MOM suit is not only slender, and smaller shouldered and gives off less illusion of weight than the Fusion Suit, it keeps the semitransparent visor from Prime and enlarges it to show more of her face.
The Prime suit was already too slim, especially in the latter two, but at least they had the excuse of using different models for most of the game. The Fusion suit is supposed to be the Super Suit with large chunks cut away and a Metroid infusion. The MOM suit is supposed to be the fully powered "Super" suit, the hell? Also, when the Prime visor "glowed" that was because it was using a view that wasn't full color, explaining why the alternate visor modes go full static when interfered with. Why does the MOM visor glow again? To turn it off when talking to people?
The whole thing is designed for Samus to look more vulnerable and personable, because you know, the design team were collectively thinking with the wrong head. It was "let's explore Samus as a woman" not "what new environments will players map out next?" It's not just the suit from the bad game, it's a suit that encapsulates why I think it's the bad game.

Buldogue's lawyerIt still seems to glow only so the glow can turn off to show her face.
And I just want to bring up that Samus is, surprisingly, Not that much taller than Federation Marines.
Or maybe just that specific marine, who isn't even a marine in the first place.
Though I suppose part of the reason people bring up the squad from Other M and not the myriad marines from the prime games is twofold: We don't blame any of the marines for being involved in terrible sideplots, and while the marines are inept and mostly need Samus's help to get anything done, they're not EVILLLL like basically the entire command of the army seems to be.
By the way, wasn't the new spinoff game going to come out really early this year(like, they talked about the last SE games for the system(FFE and BS) as if they would be coming out after Metroid)? Did they delay it to make it more Metroid-y after the massive dislike the trailer got? Did it get delayed to be a NX title for next year?

Probably going to be yelled at for this, but if we got the folks at Bethesda to make a open-world action RPG of Metroid yet had the quality assurance and awesome playtesting resources of Nintendo to make sure it was a friggin bugless game at day 1 release, I feel it'd be something awesome. :D

If there were no cooldowns, then it'd have to be a turn-based RPG.
