I'd be fine with them doing it for the cash if it resulted in a great game.
Like Prime 4. They don't like the Prime games so they'd only sign off on Prime 4 because they wanted to reap some profits from it. I'm cool with that, because it would mean we get Prime 4.
Metroid: Other M was done "for the art". It was Sakaguchi living his vision for what Metroid should be, and it was dreadful. The art does not guarantee a good product, and this franchise has thus far been much better off with cash cow installments.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I just started playing Prime Trilogy. I'm still not very big on realistic games, but eh, I'll give it a shot.
Speaking of shots, I do know that MPT is one of the very few games that can really effectively be played with the Wii Zapper. So that's a thing.
My thoughts so far playing Prime 1 for the first time since at least 2003:
- Sheesh, now that I'm old enough to understand the scanning descriptions, scanning the injured Space Pirates on Frigate Orpheon is kind of upsetting. I feel bad for picking on them.
- I still don't understand the "Samus's powers malfunction" scene any more than I did when I was little. Like, was her power suit not compatible with the elevator or something?
- Fucking Ram War Wasps... My trigger finger's getting really tired trying to hit them. What kind of moron builds a machine that does nothing but make wasps more organized and annoying, anyway?!

Well, I generally prefer more cartoony franchises. Detailed graphics tend to alienate me; that's why I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to get a PS4 or XB1.

You're a human being with alien dna who had your parents killed by a SPACE DRAGON, and now you're being sent on a planet with a suit that can just obtain upgrades from other lifeforms I think realism can only go so far in Metroid.
Anyways I don't think the series is dead it's not a priority like Pokemon, Mario, or Zelda but until they start doing slot machines with Samus another game can be on the horizon.
My mistake D:

Just Makima. If there were a Metroid rpg how do you think it should be handled?
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
1 of three ways.
It becomes a crossover that might not do well in sales.
A game done by a different company with ambition that still does not do so well.
The last one it becomes Mass Effect 2 Electric Boogaloo.
Actually if they took the concepts from the first Mass Effect game and added in Metroid myths it could be a decent to enjoyable Metroid RPG game.

Just Makima.A open or semi-open world would be best I think. It would be great for world building, though I'm not sure I'd give that to Nintendo. Not sure what dev team would be best for that actually.
Also not sure if Samus should be the primary main character. She does best in isolation but just having a branch of random sci-fi characters in a Metroid setting (even if both the characters and the setting are done well) might not feel like Metroid,
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Eh, I think that silent protags in ensemble rpgs are an outdated trope. I don't think voicing Samus and having her in a group is doomed to fail, it simply has to be done well. And you need a decent VA and a voice director worth a damn.

And a group that doesn't make you want to throw them all into a pool of phazon.
Which means no federation goons.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWell, Anthony and Dane were cool. And some of those dead troopers in Echoes sounded alright.
Really, it was only most of the Other M chuckle heads that sucked. And most of them were just bland, which made the whole Deleter subplot even more pointless because you didn't give a damn about the glorified Stormtroopers being killed off.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Definitely a solo RPG with no other party members. I presume this would be an action RPG, and those work best solo, and even if it wasn't solo fits the tone better. Instead of finding your upgrades you unlock them as you level up, which allows you to fight tougher enemies and get to new places. Of course you get to choose whether to level up say, your jump or your ice beam or your bombs or whatever to facilitate the non-linearity.
Xenoblade X is defined by being able to cover like, 80% of the map at the start. You don't want to be able to do that in Metroid. Plus Metroid generally has you exploring primarily caves, labs, and other indoor environments.
And while I do like Xenoblade's combat, I don't think MMO cooldowns would be appropriate for Metroid.

You know, it occurs to me- I think I'd be a lot more hyped for Federation Force if it, you know, was the story of a single Federation marine stranded on a planet exploring and trying to survive.
Like, add a bit of Survival Horror to the usual Metroid, make Space Pirate squads actually incredibly terrifying to fight, and show that things that are Mooks to Samus are still incredibly dangerous to anyone who isn't a god-killing badass.
I think the graphics would barely matter if it was an actual Metroid Vania.
