Jobs do not correlate well with theory learned in school. Although you do gather some great theory in school, it is the experience that counts. Degrees in this day and age are becoming more useless thanks to the plurality of colleges offering them. Anyone with a high school education can be a boss; Microsoft's Bill Gates is famous for being a college dropout. So did Facebook's Zuckerberg.
As my Math teacher once said, "College is overrated, man."

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone? No. And before you say anything else, I'm gonna go get a cocktail.
-making one and sitting glumly on the sofa-
That doesn't mean you shouldn't work your ass off for one. Those idiots got lucky, they had talent, OR they went to college already and are old enough to live off their degrees.

I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF THE U.S, WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!!!It depends on what you major in: business, finance, and other administrative and science degrees are a must.
However, the Economist magazine has seen a gradual depression on people with degrees getting jobs; businessmen argue that people with degrees are inexperienced and cost more. They'd prefer people who know the tools of the trade and are cheaper. This is also true with the increasing powers of technology; a young child can pop up an Excel worksheet and put in some formulas and graphs to get some data. You don't need professional statisticians to do most things.
Luck is not a rational reason to call most of these entrepreneurs; talent isn't either especially when people criticize Zuckerberg for stealing ideas to create Facebook. And I'm not sure about what the last one meant.

I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF THE U.S, WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!!!I only lie for humorous purposes. Sadly, this isn't one of them.
Depi must have read this one. It's one of the more truly fascinating yet obvious articles I've read in a while.

So to even get a job you need to drop out? I'm gonna do that right now!!! WHO NEEDS A DEGREE?!
I only lie when the people other than myself will not get hurt.
@Commander! *Salutes.*: No, I read this one, which is equally fascinating, but deals with PHDs, and not university education in general.

@Frankie: That's precisely my point for most cases.
It is more important to find a job than a school; with America in its highest unemployment rate in a while, people should realize while tertiary education is a nice thing, they should actually find jobs to support themselves.

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?I haven't heard back regarding my interview yet, but I'm hopeful.
I still don't care that everyone I talked to who used to work there hated it. It's like I said to my friend yesterday, "I'm happy to sacrifice dignity and respect for cash flow. Everyone has a price. Mine just happens to be a little over $13 an hour."
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.I came to high school to get experience, graduate and get a job. Experience. A DEGREE, A DIPLOMA, SOMETHING TO SHOW MY WORTH IN THE WORLD SO I WON'T END UP BEGGING FOR CASH ON THE ROAD. Sophmore year and freshman year sucked for me, and I WILL NOT let junior year be my worst year ever. Who cares if I have one more year left? I will get something out of high school no matter what.
I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF THE U.S, WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!!!![]()
I agree with you, Frankie. Don't let your experience, no matter how bad it is, be for nothing.
Thanks, Neko. It's a permanent job with the State. I can actually see the place from the window of where I'm temping right now.

I feel like I said something wrong yet again... :(
