The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know.
@ Dark: It's ok! hugs

"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - MediaSabre, I say we agree on a concept called Supply and Demand. Band practice supplies my free time, and I demand you oblige me.
But in all honesty...
What time's it over there? Does, say, ~20 hours from now sound good?
And you'll be doing more teaching than fighting, Herr Sabre. I'm horrible at that game.
I am become Death, Destroyer of Miniputts. What's wrong Dark? :< hugs tighter
"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - MediaBut you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call The Prestige.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 ^_^
...so how did you like your film? :D

ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NOAbout twenty hours from now will be excellent, Rena. See you around 8PM Eastern Time. Eastern Front preferred.
@Dark: (hugs silently)
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Dark: PM's?
Noa: It was excellent! The mixed up order made it suspenseful, the Borden twist was fantastic, and the realization that Angier killed himself every night was just... wow! I love how neither side were given preference and how both men arranged for the other to get the diaries.
"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - Media@Rena: yes.
@Dark: we're willing to listen, lad, if you're willing to talk. As your friends and equals.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.@ Dark: Oh, okay - I don't want to force you to talk about anything you don't want to talk about. hugs
"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - MediaNoa, your avatar reminds me of Kamen Rider Faiz. :3
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FrySabre: Yes!
Stolen: Yes! Go back and watch it again carefully, some time - not only can you see the difference between the two Bordens on second notice, but they're written to have two distinct character arcs. Instead of two tragedies that end poorly and bittersweetly respectively, you can pick out three - one bittersweet and two downer endings, and the Borden who survived is the one who does not succumb to his Tragic Flaw. There is not a SINGLE line wasted in the entire movie. And what's another form of art where you put an incredible amount of effort into something the audience is never expected to notice...? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I love the balance that's given between the two/three protagonists, and the non-linear storytelling, and NIKOLA TESLA, and Duelling Unreliable Narrators, and Thirty Xanatos Pile Up, and so, so much Fridge Brilliance...!
...I can stop now. >_<
It's a thing that goes Thud in the Dark. :D

ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NOä —> a or ae, depending on the context.
Not everyone has umlauted letters on their keyboards, unfortunately. :(
ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NOWe either leave off the umlauts entirely (thereby offending the nation in question), add in additional letters (Göring —> Goering), or go hunting around the alt/number buttons combinations until we find it.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.@ Noa: I already planned to watch again! :D As soon as the twin was revealed "Borden's" changing behaviour towards Olivia and Sarah made sense - also all new depth to Sarah's observations on whether he meant "I love you" each day.
Anyway - I have to go meet with a group study session now - see you all later.
hugs all
Again awesome movie!
