Can we have something in the tips given when you edit, which says "Please do not alphabetize the individual series on a trope page. It makes it harder for people to recognize new entries without looking at the history."?

I just noticed "Seinfeld" Is Unfunny was alphabetized.

Hmmm, is looking at the edit history that much of a hardship? I usually look at that first rather than scanning the page.

Alphabetizing makes it easier to see if the work you were thinking about adding is already there.

And I've wondering about alphabetizing the page You Keep Using That Word. Because right now it is kind of hard to read.

What do other people think?

Well, that's not a list of trope examples, so I don't think my objection really applies.

If you want to know if the work you want to add is already there, you can just search for its title on the page.

Alphabetization makes it hard to look for new examples.

I don't recall that we ever arrived at a consensus that alphabetizing works in trope example lists was a workable or desirable solution. We do want to move towards having the work title be the first element of each bullet, to establish consistency in formatting.
