Basically, in this thread, we start by naming/describing a spell, and then the next poster makes up the incantation and material components needed to cast it.
For incantations, use Google Translate
to translate from English to Latin. Material components should draw heavily from superstitious beliefs and/or mythology, but some scientific influence is also allowed. More mundane spells should not need material components.
Here's an example:
Spell Description: Summons a lightning bolt to strike your foes.
Incantation: Invoca caeli furor (literal meaning: "call upon the heavens' wrath.")
Material components (Drawn from D&D 3.5E in this case): A bit of fur and an amber, crystal, or glass rod.
Now, to start, I'll describe a spell, and the next poster will come up with the incantation and spell components.
Description: Creates a puff of smoke to distract foes and/or provide cover for an escape.
