I saw the page on Deconstructor Fleet and I realized that it attacks and subverts more than one trope but how do you utilize this trope? The page includes works that goes out of its way to subvert or twist the tropes its using or at least invoke them in a very unpredictable manner. I want to write a good story but I also want to be aware of what ropes I am nvoking so that can take them apart. How do I go into a deconstructor fleet mode like the works on the page?

Try to avoid too much "Look, I'm aware of this trope!" stuff. That is, avoid pointing out that X usually plays out in X way, instead of the way you're doing it.

I guess there such a thing as too much meta but I will try to use it in moderation like you guys said.

If you do do Lampshade Hanging then make it sound like part of the character's natural dialogue ratehr than someone pointing out something for the sake of pointing it out. Also, when deconstructing a trope, don't try to have in story text pointing out why playing it straight would be bad; instead, make use of the subversion as an odd anomaly that catches some of the characters off gaurd.
