So according to the Heel Face Revolving Door page, these two are pretty much the alternate company equivalent of each other. Much better opponent for Namor than Aquaman at any rate.

So they both have the standard flying brick power set. Advantages? Black Adam probably flies a lot faster, since Namor is primarily an underwater dude, and Namor's only at full strength when submerged so Namor can only win in water. Black Adam can summon bolts of lightning, but his own lightning will turn him back into a regular, easily to kill man, which would make it easy for Namor to stop his transformation all together, since he can control and redirect electricity.

But to make it interesting, neither one of them knows how the other's powers work or even who the other guy is. Namor is disgruntled since the Yankees, Knicks, Celtics and Giants all had winning seasons. So he leaves his house in the ocean to finally defeat his most hated enemy, the city of New York. Black Adam is on Manhattan Island, selling tickets he stole to a sold out concert in the stadium behind him when Namor shows up and destroys it. With his customers running in terror, Adam is angry too so they fight. Who wins?

Barring weird circumstances, I'd have to give this one to Black Adam - he's able to go toe-to-toe with Superman, after all.

That's not really a good reasoning—Namor goes toe-to-toe with the Marvel equivalents regularly.

People tend to underestimate Namor's actual power. Depending on the Writer, at his peak, he's able to trounce Marvel's top contenders when he's fully submerged—and even when he's out of the water, he's more than capable of holding his own.

I'm not saying he'd beat Black Adam (for the most part, I stay from Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny topics), but I just wanted to comment on that response.

The excuse plot made me lol.

That said, Black Adam once fought everyone and was winning until Captain Marvel depowered him by changing his password. It'd be a good fight, but I don't think Namor can take him.

One of the greatest setups to a fight I've ever read. I tip my hat to you.

Well, looks like Black Adam would win this one.

I've always thought about this, and they really are very similar. Both are superstrong, can fly, and are invulnerable. Both are leaders of a fictional people (Khandaq for Adam, and Atlantis for Namor). Namor the Sub-Mariner and Black Adam both have pointed ears, slicked back hair, and have female equivalents, Isis and Namora. Both are extreme antiheroes with temper problems. Both have been members of the World War Two teams, (or the descendants of the WWII team) the Invaders and JSA. It's all coincidental of course. But I think the fight would be so even it would be impossible to tell who would win.

Yeah, and Black Adam didn't always look like that, either.

[up][up]Both of them super strong, flight capable kings of foreign nations who flip between "heroic" and "evil" depending on what's best for their people.

I hate the "king of a foreign nation" iteration of Black Adam. He was much better in his earlier incarnation.
