I think the most interesting moment of the trailer was Optimus' line "Everything human's know of our planet we were told had been shared. You lied to us. You've made a grave mistake." It brings up the idea of a serious Autobot/Human schism and we don't know what Optimus is implying, is it the danger of misinformation or Optimus refusing to work with them?
Another thing I felt of note is that even though trailers tend to have rapid cuts it looked like everything was made of significantly longer takes. The Ark crashing on the moon didn't just show the impact, but the skid as it came to a rest.
And of course the CGI and cinematography was just as gorgeous as ever.
Agreed. And Shockwave looks badass.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Trying to figure out how the pieces of the trailer fit together, I'm currently forming a theory that the schism happens early on in the movie, which prompts the Autobots to leave Earth, soon after which point Shockwave and his Decepticon cronies decide to launch their invasion, which forces the Autobots back to Earth because as much as they might be ticked off with the planet, Optimus sees it as their obligation to go back and fight the Decepticons.

The trailer is certainly first rate, there are a lot of questions about how the story pans out and what goes where. The fact that nearly every press release and interview has people saying "It's better than the second one" and "We have a real story this time" is evident in the trailer.
My current wild mass guess, in addition to finding Sentinel Prime and others on the Ark, there are components there to build a space bridge. The scene with robots emerging from the gray sand is not on the moon, but actually set on Cybertron and the Space Bridge brings an armada they could never have gathered so quickly normally.
As a fan who LOVES space bridges, that actually sounds like a fun plot.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Stop! You're not one of the few people who liked the movie, it was a success, a MASSIVE world wide success. As stated before, rotten tomatoes had a reviewer score of 20% but Revenge of the fallen's viewer score 70%! It was liked by the people who matter, movie goers. Screw the snobs, they're free to watch something else and forget the critics, they are forced to watch it. I'm sadden by the fact the staff has let the critic's bile get to them and I really hope it doesn't means the third movie will have less tank shells, fighter planes, giant transforming robot collisions and explosions.
I liked the dorky humor. I liked seeing puny humans get lubricated, I liked the icecream truck, I liked when Michael Bay cast himself as a casualty and I liked geezer decepticon. More dorky humor!

Buldogue's lawyer5 bucks says "WHERE IS SHE?!" will be a new meme the day the movie comes out.
"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"@KJ: Ah, so I'm not the only one who noticed the longer cuts then :D Gotta say, this actually looks pretty sweet.

"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"So basically, less than what was already in the last two movies?
With Bay saying that he's cutting out all the obnoxious humour (which for the record, I hated), that comment just makes it seem that there'll be not much of a movie left to see.
This hand of mine is burning red! It's glow is calling me to defeat you!I'll leave this opinion of mine here now :
I think this one's gonna have a big Bittersweet Ending if not a Gainax Ending, since the trailer's giving me major Revenge Of The Sith vibes
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...![]()
I'm pretty sure Ironhide, Starscream, and Bumblebee are going to die.

"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"I do think Ironhide will be the one to die if there is a major Autobot death (ie not including the new recruits). Prime has already died once so it would feel repetitive and loosing Bumblebee would make it an outright Downer Ending. That was basically their logic with Jazz, someone likeable but not too vital to the story. Other strong possibilities include at least one of the Wreckers (it's basically their job to do the dirty work) and Sideswipe. Given that they've promised more robot characterization hopefully it comes across better than the Arcees, although we don't know for sure if they actually died from those attacks. (I almost suggested at least one of the Twins but given they are supposedly not in the movie it seems unlikely, though dying in a Heroic Sacrifice might redeem them somewhat)
That was a typo, I really want to see more robot on robot violence, not less of it. Revenge of the Fallen gave us more than the first, and I expect the third to continue the Sequel Escalation, but critics, they don't get the appeal. They only watch the movie because they are forced too, but the large majority of them are into historical stuff and sad stories. Transformers is not for them. Transformers is for the millions who made it profit.
Buldogue's lawyerI haven't really bothered with the controversy over Rosie Huntington-Whiteley replacing Megan Fox cause it's just a way to stir up trouble, but I came across this video
on the TFW 2005 main page and it's the first time I've seen Rosie outside of the trailer and still pictures. Certainly cute but she also has a very sweet personality, which matches Michael Bay's description of her. I also read that she found out on her own research the significance of Carly in Transformers mythology and was excited to be playing such a character, which earns points with me just by virtue of putting that kind of effort into a project.
If I am going to weigh in on the replacement it will be based on the characters only. I liked Mikaela because she managed to be an Action Girl without becoming a She-Fu commando; taking a saws-all to Frenzy and towing Bumblebee back into battle was the result of stepping up to a challenge rather than relying on years of training, which I find to be more interesting. Evidently I don't know exactly how Carly is going to be portrayed in the movie but apparently in the comics she saved Sam's life by firing the cannon of a downed Decepticon at another robot. That seems a little over the top, but if she is a different character she needs to respond differently than Mikaela would and making her like that is going too far for me. I certainly don't want her to be a Distressed Damsel either, so it's a tightrope. As for handling the split between Mikaela and Sam, I have a hard time seeing any solution that would work satisfactorily. From what I've heard they are just not going to bring it up, which may work better than anything else just by virtue of letting the audience come to their own conclusion of how it went down.
I feel bad for all the 10 year old perverts who watched the movies just to stare at Megan Fox's ass for the whole thing. To quote a user on You Tube, the movie is called Transformers, not Megan Fox. If you want to jerk off to her THAT badly, go watch Jennifer's Body.
Anyway, I think Carly killing a Decepticon with a laser cannon is justifiable, since Lennox killed Blackout with a single sabot round to the groin in Movie 1.

"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"Btw, is the controversy regarding the twins from Ro TF limited to the US? 'Cause I did not even notice the racist stereotype they apparently portrayed until I heard people complain about it... in the internet. Of course, I'm not American so I wouldn't know what racist stereotypes would be. Anyway, hoping that in the next film, the Decepticons won't get curb stomped again.
I think I did something last night...

Clearly, it can only be...Serpentor.
