Both are very well recieved shows involved with the current Network Recovery of CN. But which do you think is better? Generator Rex or Sym-Bionic Titan?

Sym-Bionic. Rex is too much like Ben 10 for my own tastes. Still good, but also has its share of problems.

Titan. Loads more style, better, more consistent storytelling, and non-obnoxious protagonists. It also feels more like a work of love, as opposed to Rex, which at times feels deeply cynical and tries too hard to seem cool.

Generator Rex if only because Rex actually has supporting characters and I actually like the show's 'coolness'.

Don't get me wrong I like Titan and I'm sure Sym Bionic Titan is objectively better but in a way Generator just makes gets me pumped up.

Sym-Bionic Titan. It just holds my interest more than Generator Rex does.

I like Generator Rex more than Titan. More characters have been fleshed out and I like the art and design more.

I like Rex better. I just find it more fun to watch. Titan is good and all, but I don't feel attracted to it as much as to Rex. It probably has something to do with the art styles.

Titan has the more appealing combination of art style, characters, writing, and action sequences.

I've honestly tried getting into Generator Rex, but it just comes across as very insincere to me. And I couldn't get into any of the main characters.

Titan, though I like both of them. Rex is tons of fun, but Titan just feels like a more substantial show to me, with interesting characters, several distinct factions, and a stronger arc.

I've actually haven't watched much of Titan, but from what I've seen, it easily surpasses Generator Rex.

[up]Awesome article! And I pretty much agree fully with it.

I still really like Generator Rex but you have some good points.

Can't get past Titan's art style. I vote Rex.

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

Rex is too inconsistent for me.

I vote Titan.

@alkthash and @ultrayellow, what's bad about Titan's artstyle? That's one of the reasons I like it over Rex.

It's not bad. It's just a bit too polished for my tastes. And whilst both shows are pretty Troperific I just like Generator Rex's assembly/collection of tropes better.

As for the character complaint, generally every character in GR has been fleshed out. In Titan it has pretty much been Lance that has gotten spotlight. Elana and Octus had episodes focusing on them, but at the end they are generally the same and we don't really know much about them. For Octus this makes sense given he is a robot, but you would think we could have more to work with with Elana.

Plus I find the fight scenes in GR to be more fun. They are more visceral. More immediate I suppose.

For all the talk that Sym-Bionic Titan is a work of love and Generator Rex is manufactured I really feel it's the other way around the show really feels like it's a collection of the type of stories Man Of Action wants to tell as opposed to the feeling that no matter what direction the stories go the creators of Sym-Bionic Titan know the have a hit on their hand.

^^ I personally don't like the look of the characters besides Octus and Titan. It reminds me too much of Naruto. I didn't like that art either.

Also, Rex has been improving. Before the break, there really wasn't too much going for it besides how much fun it was to watch (which I prefer over shows with great everything but just doesn't make it that enjoyable). But now they've been going into Rex's backstory and showing other characters (like Six and WK.

He's also misinformed, as Gennedy Tartokovsky has been influenced by Countless Japanese animation over the years that were around LONG before Naruto came to the states. I'd say its more of an advanced version of his Samurai Jack designs, made even sharper and through Art Evolution, much more realistic looking in some parts.

Thats the point pretty much. Traditional animation is always 2-d, before CGI was invented.
