Although it is common practice to publish that information for many organizations I am not sure what purpose it would serve here. If people wish to publicize their donations they can post it in a thread or whatever.
There are some people who have expressed a concern that giving special recognition or privileges for donations would be unfair and would create a hierarchy within the community.
Edit to add: is it really necessary to use the pink for emphasis? It is kind of irritating.

A text color irritates you?
Well, no sense in arguing about it.

Troper PageThe easiest way to make sure that donating doesn't allow or even imply special privileges is to keep donations unknown. Right now, not even the mods know who's made a donation, unless the person mentions it themselves. A $20.00 donation does get one privilege: the account that made it has ads blocked at the server level for 3 months.
So is the ad blocking turned on whenever you're logged in as that account or what?

Infinite Tree: an experimental story

Once I get my Paypal account working I plan on donating to Tv Tropes.
But I was wondering, on a older site I used to be on they had a small bar that showed the names of the people who donated to the site as recognition for helping them.
I was just wondering if there was a thread / wiki area that recognizes who contributed to Tv Tropes and donated, whether or not that would be allowed...
And I also thought of something that might be of some use.
