@OP: Me too. It seems to be a common thing, actually. My aunt and uncle once came up with a travel snacking rule for long road trips they called "the sweet/salty rotation." It's Exactly What It Says on the Tin, and it keeps you from getting tired of snacks, letting you travel longer without needing to stop for real food.
I once proposed the National Association of Condiment Lovers for this.

But soft! What rock through yonder window breaks? It is a brick! And Juliet is out cold. You know what they need to make? Chocolate covered fries. Sell 'em at Mc Donald's. Hell yeah.
(wo)Man of a thousand voices... In her head. How do I miss these things?! o.O
I mean, I hear the ear-rape Quiznos cats six times a day, but nothing telling me my love of frosty fries isn't something perverted and horrible?

You know what people mean when they say they have a "sweet tooth"? They mean that they like sweet foods. Probably a bit too much.
Well, I never did like sweets all that much—they're nice but whatever.
However, who needs cookies when you have crackers?
Who needs chocolate chips when you have chips?
Who needs caramel when you have cheese?
Who needs chocolate-covered nuts when you have sea-salt-covered nuts?
Salty foods FTW.
