Americans Hate Tingle has been locked since August. Why? I don't see anything "bad" on it... and right now, it really needs a natterectomy.

Go to the thread edit request for a locked page. As for the reason for the locking, look here.

Basically, last time we tried a clean up, people kept edit warring all the natter back in.

Is it the Business section? I just say nuke it as an example page or limit the page to examples of people hating types of fiction.

The food section, bizarrely enough.

...There's no food section.

That's because we deleted it and the page was locked to stop it from being added back.

Ah, yes, I see it. Huh. Weird. It is very Natter-y, so I see why it was removed. I'm surprised, though, I assumed people were bickering about tastes, not just adding Natter information. It's kind of funny to see a mod say "don't add this stuff back in without discussion or you'll get banned" and then some random poster saying "No, you should be banned!"

Yeah, the original goal wasn't to chop the section entirely. It just wound up that way because people couldn't be happy with an unnattered version.

Maybe someday soon it can be returned and the page unlocked, then — after all, more well-known pages have been natter-pruned to a much greater extent.

Once again, I fail to understand what we gain from permanently locking trope/work pages. Not even The Other Wiki perma-locks pages for upwards of a week or two, much less four months. Don't you think perma-locking is overkill?

The page has been unlocked, but I'll be watching it closely. Any signs of edit-warring get it locked back up and disciplinary action.

Just to make sure, the food thing is still off limits?

Yes.

Edit: Longer explanation: It fell afoul of the general wiki rule that we delete any real-life sections that cause trouble.
