Doesn't surprise me as Suzaku Castle is bundled with Ryu.
I think we'll get a price at the Direct.
I did have to tell my mom that Cloud (and any DLC characters that release with him, if I have enough moneys) will be the only thing I really spend on between now and Christmas.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Isn't Ryu + Suzaku Castle like 7€? I'm expecting that for Cloud and Midgar.
Songs we know Midgar will have:
- Those who fight (general battle tune)
- Those who fight further (normal boss tune)
Songs that are sure to be in but not revealed yet:
- J.E.N.O.V.A (either original, the metal remix, or both)
- One Winged Angel (see above)
Songs I'm hoping for:
- Electric De Chocobo (it's the best silly song)
- G-Bike (the minigame where you ride a motorbike)
- Bombing Mission
(the "intro" but with the first minute cut, considering the default two minute time limit of matches. And the 70 second intro part of the song)
There's more, but I don't want to make a huge list right now.
I'm not expecting it, but Birth of a God
would be nice. FFVII just had excellent boss battle music in general.
Obviously one of the songs will be this:
I would laugh so hard if that happens.
Reaction Image RepositoryI suspect something about the future of Smash (beyond the 3DS and WiiU offerings) will be announced, but in all seriousness, I have no idea what that might be.
Oh, and I suspect we'll get announcements as to when the remaining Smash amiibo will come out.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I'm expecting at least one of the missing veterans to be announced in the direct, since the category as a whole probably swamped the ballot by a landslide.
- Wolf is likely and expected; less effort to make, a game he's featured in is on its way, and Sakurai personally likes the character.
- Snake is possible. As screwed up as Konami is nowadays, Kojima is still Sakurai's best friend, so he's probably at least considering him.
- The Ice Climbers would take a lot of effort to compress them enough to work on not only the 3DS version, but 8-Player Smash. They didn't have enough time to figure out a way during the game's main development, but now that that's done, they might be a possibility. Might.
- Ivysaur, while possible (and welcome), I wouldn't hold out hope for. Same with Squirtle.
- Pichu is very unlikely, but somewhat possible due to his unique gimmick.
- Young Link is very, very unlikely. Toon Link fills his niche already and, while YL has OOT and MM 3D, TL has Triforce Heroes.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerFor veterans currently not in...
Wolf is the most likely of the ones who missed the cut previously. Plays distinctly enough to not be a clone, but with enough info that I think he'd be much easier than a complete ground-up build. My only hope is no Landmaster (maybe have a Wolfen do a strafing run instead for a Final Smash).
The only way I could see Young Link added would be either a) an alternate palette for Toon Link, or b) an outfit for a Mii Swordfighter. Toon Link compeltely fills the niche Young Link had in Melee.
I don't think Snake will get added, but it has nothing to do with Sakurai or anyone at Nintendo. The whole mess with Konami has spiraled out of control; about the only way I could see them agreeing would be if they were convinced to say "fuck it" and just get a quick buck from the income from the DLC... and even then, I suspect they'd do something stupid like demand too much of the profits from the DLC, killing the prospect. Relatedly, as much as I've rooted for Simon Belmont in the past, I suspect he also is a no-go. the TLDR version - Snake is probably no because Konami sucks.
The only way I see the Ice Climbers getting in is if they were locked to the WiiU version, because I suspect they'd be viewed as too much and too chaotic for the 3DS version. And that would just be a slippery slope.
Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Pichu are almost certain not in, I would bet. Pichu... come on, nobody liked Pichu. The others, I just don't think people cared enough. Squirtle was popular, but I just don't think the developers like small, light characters as much. Ivysaur... honestly, if I were to pick any Grass-type character to make it, Chesnaught is my pick.
If I were to actually seriously pick who would get in... honestly, after Cloud, I couldn't even hazard a guess. I'll just say Master Chief to intentionally be as ridiculous and wrong as possible.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Sakurai's friendship with Kojima means nothing at this point since Kojima almost certainly has no say whether or not Snake is allowed in Smash. Nintendo apparently does have some sort of relationship with Konami, but I wouldn't expect anything big to come from that.
So we'll get Wolf and another newcomer or two.
Although I think there's really no telling who will be confirmed in the Direct, I'm still thinking that Wolf is pretty much a given, seeing as how we've got Star Fox Zero coming up.
I really don't think Snake is going to come back, unfortunately. Even if it was all up to Kojima, I feel like Konami wouldn't let him.
Aside from Wolf or Snake, the only other veteran characters I'd really like to see or care about returning are the Ice Climbers (who aren't even likely in the first place for reasons everyone and their grandmother likely knows about by now) or Ivysaur (and even then, I also would rather see a new Grass-type Pokemon in Smash, such as Sceptile, Chesnaught, or whoever).

Locking the Ice Climbers to the Wii U version wouldn't do anything. Again, 8-Player Smash.
If they're too memory-straining for the 3DS, then they're also too memory-straining for 8-Player, and vice-versa. With them, it's either serious compression or nothing at all.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerIs there any reason to believe that having 8 Ice Climbers on the screen at the same time would be that onerous for the system? My biggest concern for it on the 3DS is for screen real estate (which already is an issue for portable Smash), but I don't think that's a concern for Nintendo when it comes to the WiiU version.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
Look at how chopped-down most of the stages in 8-player are, and how it took us several updates to even access most of them. 8-player just barely manages to exist as it is.
At the same time, though, part of that is the onerousness of having potentially 8 radically different characters with radically different movesets all chugging along at once. The second Ice Climber is nigh-identical in skin and completely identical in mechanics to the first, which does help alleviate some of the load. Also, they have gotten better at programming for that many identical-behaving drones with the WiiU (look at how well Hyrule Warriors plays). I think Nana and Popo are feasible on the WiiU today, even if they weren't at the game's release.
That said, I don't think they could make it in the 3DS version. About the only way I could see it happening would be if you only had a solo Ice Climber in that version with a much different moveset. Which, honestly, I wouldn't mind.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I suppose hoping for Cloud was more rational somehow?

I hope not. I kinda need to update my credit card status. Anyone know where I can change it?
