It could be a gentle hit with some start up lag and a lot of ending lag, but if you hit with it, it unleashes a second nasty blow right afterwards with really high knockback.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeAnother way I could see doing it would be to have several skills be activated in a similar manner as Monado Arts, and having certain moves be altered based on which skill gets activated. Thus, there'd be a move (maybe something similar to Dancing Blade) that gets the powerful second hit activated when Galeforce was in use.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I don't think they'd make a move that had conditional effects upon getting a KO - beyond promoting an Unstable Equilibrium that Smash in general tries to avoid, such a condition would be completely pointless in several modes of play (like some levels in Classic mode, any time there's a single-stock fight, target/home run bat stages, etc.). I think the condition would have to be much wider (such as being attacked with either a melee or a projectile attack, the basis for counter and reflect moves, repsectively) for it to be considered.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I don't think they would have effectively used Cloud Strife as a teaser for the next Direct's Smash-related content unless it was something huge (or, at least what they think is huge). The most absurd thing I could think of would be that they're going to announce a Dissidia Final Fantasy game for the WiiU and 3DS, and that it would somehow link to basically give DLC characters to Smash as well as allow you to port over characters from Smash into Dissidia. Technically possible, extremely unlikely, but people would flip out if it happened.
A slightly more realistic take would be that Square Enix would announce a new crossover game featuring just their properties featuring the Smash mechanics as a Nintendo exclusive, probably featuring the chibis used for the Theatrhythm games.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I don't think that there are any upcoming regular directs any time soon, so I have to assume that the "upcoming direct" refers to the Smash special in December.
For that, Sakurai's likely going to appear as he has in the past directs, explain Cloud's moveset and give us a release date. Then, there's likely going to be a mention of the ballot, possibly a trailer of any "first" characters that could be coming, maybe allusions to ones that might not release relatively soon, if this is the "last" direct, and it's not a "only one character" thing.
Possibly mention of new stages, or anything else that might be coming for DLC.

I've beaten All-Star and Classic with every character in both versions, completed every challenge in both versions, and collected every move in both versions. I've even beaten 9.0 Classic with every character on both versions and I'm working on beating All-Star on hard with every character.
