Just to quickly touch back on the Touhou thing, I'm a fandom-only-fan for it for the same kind of reasons I can't play Smash in any competitive capacity.
And also why I don't feel like I'd be a good enough opponent to play anybody in the thread, casuals or no, along with no idea how well the Wi Fi on my Wii U and ISP would be.

Oh good, someone who played Custom Robo. I'll admit, I barely played any of it. if a version of Ray were in Smash, what version would it be? Would it matter? Could you help me think of ideas for moves?

There's a different Ray every game, but they all share the core characteristics of being the Jack of All Stats of their game and a red-white-blue color scheme. I'd vote for either Ray Mk. III or a composite identified simply as Ray.
As for specials... Well, every Robo uses a set of three main weapons, consisting of a main Gun, a Bomb part that fires explosive effects on a fixed area, and a "backpack" part called a Pod that fires lingering weapons that are valuable more for being able to cut off opponents from running or so on than they are for causing damage. In addition, there's a leg part that generally boosts either running or jumping characteristics, usually at the cost of the other attribute, and each main Robo chassis has a Charge skill, like a tackle, with Ray's always being a very straightforward rush that may or may not manifest as a Flash Step.
In my book... You'd have to pick out three main weapons- A Gun for Standard specials, a Bomb for Side, and a Pod for Down- With the Charge being a Fire Fox-ish Up Special. After that, you could do stuff like switching to the Sword Gun for a Forward Smash or setting off the Pods early for an Up Smash. Being a Shining Fighter type of Robo, the Rays get two air dashes in their source games, which I could see working as two extra midair jumps that cover much more horizontal space than vertical.
For a Final Smash, you've got a lot of choices, but Soulboost from Arena and the various Illegal Parts from throughout the series could easily work there, either alone or in tandem.
I sure said that!Shulk copied Riki's swoosh-dodge technique.

I'm on the bandwagon of hoping to see a Custom Robo rep in the future. Probably not in Smash 4, but in a future game where maybe Custom Robo has been so forgotten.
What was the last Custom Robo game, anyway? The one for the DS?
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorIt's the problem Nintendo has with I Ps that don't make as much money as Mario and Zelda: They ignore it for years.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!

Odd.
I have a message from another time...
