I'd be happy to play, except, y'know, 3DS and a connection that's slightly less efficient than having carrier pigeons deliver USB drives.

Just to quickly touch back on the Touhou thing, I'm a fandom-only-fan for it for the same kind of reasons I can't play Smash in any competitive capacity.

And also why I don't feel like I'd be a good enough opponent to play anybody in the thread, casuals or no, along with no idea how well the Wi Fi on my Wii U and ISP would be.

It is. My one weakness; getting outpredicted and also being thrown at every opportunity.

One more match, I think.

Fun games though, you certainly showed me that custom Duck Hunt is the spawn of satan.

I didn't know they took so long to actually fire. That's some really disruptive thing right there especially with how tanky they are.

I'm glad you took Zigzag Can out though, that custom is scary as hell.

It is, though I need to learn how to aim it right. I'm so used to using the standard can as an all-purpose projectile.

Duck Hunt is really terrifying when customs are on. Samus also gets so much better it's kinda sad even though I don't know how to use her customs properly

Her customs apart from the Screw Attacks are pretty easy to get the hang of from my experience. That one fast missle custom is kinda weird though, sometimes it doesn't want to work right.

As someone who used the Afterburner Gun in Custom Robo quite a bit, I really dig the Turbo Missiles.

I prefer the slow ones actually, they're better for pressuring the opponent.

[up][up]Oh good, someone who played Custom Robo. I'll admit, I barely played any of it. if a version of Ray were in Smash, what version would it be? Would it matter? Could you help me think of ideas for moves?

The one that was an Assist Trophy in Brawl.

I doubt we'll get Ray as DLC because he likely wouldn't sell to too many people.

[up][up]There's a different Ray every game, but they all share the core characteristics of being the Jack of All Stats of their game and a red-white-blue color scheme. I'd vote for either Ray Mk. III or a composite identified simply as Ray.

As for specials... Well, every Robo uses a set of three main weapons, consisting of a main Gun, a Bomb part that fires explosive effects on a fixed area, and a "backpack" part called a Pod that fires lingering weapons that are valuable more for being able to cut off opponents from running or so on than they are for causing damage. In addition, there's a leg part that generally boosts either running or jumping characteristics, usually at the cost of the other attribute, and each main Robo chassis has a Charge skill, like a tackle, with Ray's always being a very straightforward rush that may or may not manifest as a Flash Step.

In my book... You'd have to pick out three main weapons- A Gun for Standard specials, a Bomb for Side, and a Pod for Down- With the Charge being a Fire Fox-ish Up Special. After that, you could do stuff like switching to the Sword Gun for a Forward Smash or setting off the Pods early for an Up Smash. Being a Shining Fighter type of Robo, the Rays get two air dashes in their source games, which I could see working as two extra midair jumps that cover much more horizontal space than vertical.

For a Final Smash, you've got a lot of choices, but Soulboost from Arena and the various Illegal Parts from throughout the series could easily work there, either alone or in tandem.

I sure said that!

I'm on the bandwagon of hoping to see a Custom Robo rep in the future. Probably not in Smash 4, but in a future game where maybe Custom Robo has been so forgotten.

What was the last Custom Robo game, anyway? The one for the DS?

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior

I think so..

They really need to make a new one. It would fit perfectly on the 3DS or even Wii U!

It's the problem Nintendo has with I Ps that don't make as much money as Mario and Zelda: They ignore it for years.

It's a shame, but in this market they sort of have to and wait until they have the money to go all out with a new entry. Like with Star Fox Zero, for example.

Not necessarily. Pac-Man doesn't use his most recent design and neither does Cloud.

I mean, Cloud technically does, seeing as his last big visual overhaul was his Advent Children costume. tongue
