My brother and I are like at the same skill level but it's like he somehow always knows what I'm going to do. He beat me as Lucina against my Marth, causing me to Rage Quit yet again.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonDoes anyone else HATE playing online? I fought with the shittiest trolls tonight.
Villager kept using the rocket, Ike kept countering, Shulk kept back-slashing and it was EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH.
I can't take it anymore. Fuck it. I wish there were real players who knew how to use whoever they choose correctly.
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!Dodge past Villager's rocket and sock him in the face, grab Ike or bait him into countering too early, and... do pretty much whatever you want to Shulk. Backslash is such a situational and janky move.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The slight input lag on FG really messes up my Pikachu game, so I'm almost forced to play Toon Link or Roy, which is a tad frustrating.
But if it isn't the input lag, it's the connection itself being too crappy to bother playing, which also sucks. So I don't get a lot of practice in.
That said, I'm still the best of my friends. I really need to play more if I want to get past this skill cap I'm at.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeStill trying to find a character I am good at. Still failing >_<
Also, I'm confused. Online, I'm always hearing the Smash community pretty much saying Tiers are everything and you need combos if you want to be good etc, then offline they say the opposite (use whoever you want nomatter where on the tier list. Combos are not compulsory etc).
Avatar by Pastel Mistress: http://pastelmistress.deviantart.com/Depends on which game you're playing and who you're playing. Breaking out a generally bottom tier character like Samus against someone who is really good with Mario will probably make things really hard for you. Tiers are less important in Smash 4 than others due to how everything is mostly useable, some are just better.
Online also tends to be focused on the competitive side. So unless you want to get that good/play in tournaments you can probably do fine. Although, they are good for trying to get better at playing characters.

I think offline follows a different mindset than online. Online usually attracts the more core crowd of Smash.
Yeah, this isn't like Brawl where bringing out Ganondorf against a good Snake player pretty much means a Curb Stomp occurs.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Against a character like Villager or Ness that can still happen.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Hey guys, you know who would fit well in Smash Bros.?
Final Smash is obviously eating his spinach, and his attacks are One-Hit Kill like when Mario gets that star that makes him kill everything.
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.I wonder if there were people who voted for Popeye when they did that DLC Character poll thing.
And his stage! It could switch between black and white to full technicolor glory. And the 1930s aesthetic wouldn't hurt. Hazards include Bluto, those weird big nosed humanoids, and the summon could be Eugene the Jeep (no, not the vehicle) that could confuse the opponents or something.
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.I have no idea how good I am or am not.
When I can get my Wii U HDD issue fixed, I wouldn't mind adding everyone and having a bout online.
I'm not dead set on a "main" but I gravitate towards all Fire Emblem characters, Shulk and Lucario. Occasionally I will dabble into Charizard, (Dark) Pit, both Lonks and Falcon(&dorf) but I feel like I don't perform as well with them.
I want to play Fox and Mega Man more, but I just feel like I'm terrible with them.
And no, I'm not super into swords or "weeaboo shit." Those characters just happen to somehow "click" with how I play.

I tend to play as the more "animeesque" characters than I do the ridiculously cartoony ones overall. I gravitate towards 4 of the FE characters (Robin being the exception), Ryu, Falcon, Mega Man, Sonic, Regular Lonk, Samus, Shulk, Mewtwo, Lucas, Greninja, Fox, and Falco. Though I do like Bowser, Luigi, Wario, Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede, Duck Hunt, Snake, and Mario. And even with the Smash Flash games I like using Inu Yasha, Naruto, Son Goku, and Ichigo over the likes of, say, Yoshi.
That's actually weird for me since there are only 3 anime series I've really watched a heavy amount of (Inu Yasha, Sailor Moon, and Madoka). Though I should get back into FMA and Evangelion at least. And maybe watch DBZ Abridged, but this is another topic entirely.
I think my overall Yoshi dislike really depends on the game. It's more stemmed from two of my friends always picking him in Mario Kart and Party. For some reason, they don't always pick Yoshi in Smash, though. I like Yoshi when he's a powerup for Mario in the platformers.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Playing with my brother I have found I am not bad at Greninja or Pit. Problem is, I have heard those are two characters you absolutely have to use combos to even bother using them.
Looks like I need to keep looking.
I was interested in playing Ness too, but I cannot do the Down Throw -> F-Air -> F-Air -> ... thing to save my life, so he's out too.
