You got sick of something that only applies to two characters.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Four if you count "Robot".
Ten if you count the Pokemon

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyOh right...Duck Hunt, that makes three I guess.
The point is, it's not common enough.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Duck Hunt as a character is actually the entire cast of Duck Hunt, the dog, the ducks, and the shooter.
Cloud's attacks look really solid. I can't wait to play him. I want to make him fight Sonic for some reason...
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardYeah, the comments are pretty much 1:1 with what I noticed in these parts. There's even a guy asking for Cloud in PSASBR, which baffles the fuck outta me because I could've sworn the Japanese didn't give two shits about it.

Cloud as an appeal to foreigners, aka us? I mean, I guess FFVII arguably has a bit more cultural resonance in the West as the "gateway JRPG", but that's still an odd way to consider it.
And I remember in one of those React videos with the Japanese Youtubers that there's this general impression of Americans as zany and over-the-top, so I can actually buy the Japanese watching American reaction videos. It helps that the one linked is Etika flinging around packaging paper in excitement.

I'll be real, it's really making me consider committing to that Wii U purchase.

"Internet filth of Japan"
My sides just can't handle this, I love whoever typed that comment.
What's funny is as far as I can tell, the people saying Cloud was added to appease American fans aren't without merit- he's been recieved waaaaaaay better here in America than I thought. Says something that a majority of SmashFAQs is actually extremely happy with him. Mind, that's probably where a lot of Smash arguments wind up being the most divisive.

Someone there asked for Bartz? As in, the axe fighter from the first Fire Emblem?
Heck, now that I think about it if they had put Bartz in and given him a job change mechanism, he could've actually been a pretty cool fighter.

This song needs more love.

"Agent 3" is the title of the player character, which is why it may be fitting.
Attempt at a hypothetical Cloud guidance (since DLC characters don't get official ones)
Pit: Whoa! Look at that!
Palutena: I see you're fighting Cloud, Pit. He is an intimidating fighter, isn't he?
Pit: I'm more impressed by the sword he's carrying! It's as big as Magnus's!
Palutena: Yes, Cloud is well-known for the blade he carries, whether he's using the Buster Sword or the Fusion Blade.
Pit: It's a wonder an ordinary human can carry a sword that heavy. I mean, Ike's was one thing, but-
Palutena: It's not a heavy sword, Pit. It's an important sword.
Pit: But... even if it's important, it's still heavy, right?
Palutena: No, it's important.
Pit: uh...
Viridi: He probably can only wield it with all that energy he's stolen from the planet.
Pit: Viridi? What are you talking about, anyway?
Viridi: Oh, just look at him. He's positively dripping with life-energy ripped from the planet. It's like he's drenched in blood! Just like a human.
Palutena: It is true that Cloud was enhanced beyond normal human limits with mako energy, taken from the planet's lifestream.
Viridi: Hah! just another greedy-
Palutena: But he later joined the AVALANCHE group to put an end to that process by breaking mako reactors, and bring down the company heading the effort.
Vridi: ... Well... he shouldn't be using that power in the first place! It's disgusting! should at least plant some trees to apologize
Pit: Aaaanyway, got any advice for fighting him?
Palutena: Oh yes. Like I said, Cloud has been enhanced to break normal human limits
Viridi: Hmph!
Palutena: So watch out when he goes into his Limit Break state! All his attacks will become more powerful, reach farther, and just generally be harder to deal with. I'd suggest keeping your distance until it runs out, since he's largely a melee fighter. But watch out for his Blade Beam. You can reflect it with your Guardian Orbitars, but it flies farther and faster while he's in Limit Break mode. So watch out.\\

I have a message from another time...
