FF 7 HD as a launch title for NX. Make it happen.

My first thought for Assist Trophy is Aerith. Planet Protector on the person who opened the trophy to make them invulnerable for a short time.
However, we didn't get any A Ts to go with Ryu
I have a message from another time...So mostly I just lurk this thread, but I had to comment on this stuff.
Cloud caught me off guard, mainly because I wasn't expecting a FF character. That said, given that he's the main character of one of the most popular and influential eastern RP Gs ever, it makes some sense. I mean, after having extremely influential characters from gaming history (Mario, Link, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu) it makes sense on some level. It's just that he's so far removed from Nintendo as a company that very few people thought it was actually plausible.
As for the Panel de Pon thing, I think the main mark against it is its obscurity. Outside of Japan it's basically unknown by that name (due to all the reskins), even in comparison to other games that made it in. I mean, yeah, Pit and Ice Climbers are obscure compared to the likes of Mario, but I had at least heard of them. Whereas with Lip, very few people outside of Japan know who she is. I wouldn't complain if they did add Panel De Pon characters, but on the other hand, I can't really fault them for preferring to add characters that most people will recognize over something that obscure.
With the assist trophies, the summons were the first thing that came to mind, but since they seem to be built into the stage itself that seems unlikely. I'd say that Tifa, Aerith, and Sephiroth would be the obvious characters to use.

Reaction Image RepositoryNintendo and Square have had a strong relationship since the DS kicked ass, and while it hasn't been that obvious to us dirty westerners, they've given the 3DS pretty good support too. And of course two Dragon Quests for NX before we even know what the system is. I was predicting FF7R would be coming to NX awhile ago, and now I'm feeling more confident of that.
I really hope there's more than just four more slots for characters as is rumored... There's too many people to please.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWouldn't it be hilarious if they cancelled FF 7 HD for the PS 4 and made it Nintendo exclusive instead? It would be the exact opposite of what happened with the original FF 7. I doubt it'll happen, but it would be hilarious.
Regarding Lip in smash bros. I wouldn't count on her being released as DLC. These DLC characters all take time and money to develop, so they want to develop characters that are really popular so more people will pay to download them. Lip isn't very popular so not a lot of players would spend money on buying her. Your best hope is that they put her in the roster of Smash 5.
"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me!" ~ Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic ColoursI'm really wondering if I should get myself a Wii U or not. On the one hand I plan on getting a 3DS soon because there are a good number of games that I'd like to get for it as well as backwards compatibility with DS games and I wouldn't mind giving the Super Smash Bros Wii U a shot. But on the other hand, I'm not sure if it would be worth it because it really doesn't look like the Wii U has a very great library of games and if I were to get one, if I was incredibly lucky, I'd probably only get around five to ten games. It's kind of the same reasons why I doubt I'd get myself a PS 4. There just are nowhere near as many good games as there were for the previous consoles like the PS 2 and 3. Plus I still think the no backwards compatibility is a real letdown.
It doesn't matter if you want to be useful to someone. There's no such thing as a life worth throwing away!Haven't played Smash-U yet, but I've got the 3DS version. It's not quite as pretty and it doesn't have the same stages but I've been pretty satisfied with it. My only real complaint is sometimes the screen is a little small for when it zooms out a lot because you've got 4 players all over the stage, but that's isn't usually an issue.
Also I think the Wii-U is backwards compatible with Wii games, if that helps any.
I'd say go for whichever one in general has the games you're more interested in, though the 3DS really does have a more diverse library.
If it comes down to Smash, my two cents are: Smash 3DS is the better game if you do a lot of single-player, and all the halmarks for an amazing time are still there. Smash U is the one everyone prefers to play though, and you only need one console/copy for local multiplayer. Its single-player sucks compared to the 3DS version.
So Smash 3DS for single player, Smash U for multiplayer.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI had known about the Wii U being backwards compatible. But I still have my original Wii mainly so I can play Wii games and Gamecube games. And even though I still like the Wii once I've gotten the other games I want for it, I'll probably only have around 15 to twenty games for it if I'm lucky.
It doesn't matter if you want to be useful to someone. There's no such thing as a life worth throwing away!Wii U is pretty good, I would say. At least it's vastly superior to the original launch, with a small catalog and bugs galore.
I'd say its worth it, with the big influx of (probably) good games that are out already and are going to come out.
A ONE, A TWO...A ONE-TWO-THREE ONE! DON'T SHIRK WORK! TWO! RUN AWAY AND PAY! THREE! SMILES GO FOR MILES!Yeah, get the Wii U. There's tons of great games for it, and MK 8 actually shakes things up enough to warrant buying another Mario Kart.

There are still Final Fantasy games and Kingdom Hearts games on Nintendo's handhelds.
