Sakurai retweeted the Direct. We're pretty much getting something. As for what, I'd say Mii costumes and a stage(or 2 or 3) at the very least. Character announcements seem likely, but they may not be available for play just yet. The ballot will be acknowledged most likely, imo.
No other predictions I feel are worth making(that I can make, I mean). Too unpredictable at this point.
Shadow?Quite honestly, I don't know who or what to expect from the Direct. I'm guessing it'll wind up being K. Rool, Wolf, and possibly Shovel Knight or the Inklings, but I don't really know who it'll wind up being.
I won't be surprised if they reveal some Mii Costumes or some stages, though.

"I'm glad I don't wear shoes or else I'd have to always get shoes in two different sizes. ...If you know, you know!"I'm kind of expecting we'll just get news of maybe two ballot characters, and a "More coming in 2016!" sort of tease. Personally I'm hoping for Shovel Knight and/or Shantae, because they both look like fun and I just think it'd be cool if some of the more iconic indy games got some recognition in Smash.
Other than that? No idea, as long as whoever gets in is fun I won't have much to complain about
A slight tangent, but I feel they have to do Isaac if they want the Golden Sun series to survive. There's literally nothing for the games anymore, and the last appearance he had was in Brawl.
If Isaac never becomes a character in Sm4sh then I think that the series will completely die. If he does become a character in Sm4sh, then if he's popular enough they might make another game. Very similarly to Pit (though Pit's was a 20 year difference and rode off the old game nostalgia, I don't know if Isaac would have the same appeal).
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI don't really see the merit in comparing him with Pit when a) it's "planned before the very first trailer" vs. "planned as DLC a whole year after the respective game was released", and b) it was SSB's director himself that went ahead with the new Kid Icarus game.
And much like Wolf, it feels like we would have gotten him far earlier than the likes of Roy and Ryu if there were independent plans for him.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guybahahaha of course
Cloud confirmed I guess
Also, more stuff to be potentially announced at December.

Trying to keep my expectations low but the Shovel Knight hope is too strong.
