I think I'm getting pretty good at Sonic. I was just juggling Donkey Kong with the spring! And then I K Oed him with it!
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardI'm actually quite decent as Sonic in official and fangames. I even named him one of my top 10 favorite Smash Flash 2 fighters.
I don't really mind if fangames include characters that have no chance of getting in because they're fangames, they can do this stuff. The Super Smash Flash games have quite a few characters that have little to no chance of getting in (Bomberman, Sora, Goku, Naruto, Chrono, Cloud, Ichigo, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Inu Yasha, Zero, and Mr. Incredible). Crusade also has quite a few aside from ones already in Super Smash Flash (Klonoa, Crash, Chun-Li, Weegee, Geno, Ashley, Waluigi, Tingle, Mach Rider, Ridley, Porky, Krystal (possibly. She is a somewhat popular request. Not to Wolf's extent, though), Pheonix Wright, and Ristar.)
Hell, my fangame idea largely takes (most) of the franchises represented in Brawl, 4, Smash Flash 1, and Smash Flash 2. It does go a little more overboard with non-game characters (The anime series I would choose to represent aren't limited to only the protagonist (sans Bleach because I don't anyone else really aside from Ichigo), I even am thinking of characters from RWBY (due to me getting interested in watching), and even one certain Comic Strip.)
Jesus, I am obsessed with Smash Flash 2. I guess it's that thing that happens when I discover a new Smash Bros game that makes me obsessed over it.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Eh, I generally don't mind. Helps that even before the Wii U was even a thing, I kept making lists of "my dream SSB 4 roster" and they all had non-video game characters in them.
I guess this will just be another thing that causes a Base Breaker in the SSB fandom.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I feel like there have been more people dreading the ballot results more than being hopeful about it lately. It's kind of getting annoying, especially since it seems to be a growing trend among multiple fandoms to worry about inevitabilites occurring within them.
No matter who gets in, I'll be happy to have a different way to play the game. A polarized fan base is just par for the course.
The only thing I'm "dreading" about the ballot results is that no matter what, some part of the fandom is going to feel legitimized in their support/hatred of a character making it or not, and likely may lord it over the other half.
Probably more the haters, but if nothing else we have equal opportunity dickery.
I'm anticipating the results, too, even though I don't suspect any of the characters I voted for are going to make the cut. I'm don't see myself being really unhappy with whatever results we get. I'm just excited for new characters.
You really do have a point, though. The fanbase is going to be going up in flames whatever results are, even if highly requested folks like K. Rool or the Inklings make it in.
For some reason, I'm reminded of seeing someone who didn't want the Inklings in Smash because...they're too ugly. What?

"I'm glad I don't wear shoes or else I'd have to always get shoes in two different sizes. ...If you know, you know!"Squids don't have teeth, those would be beaks.
And, for an example of what I'm worried about, let's say no indie characters make it it; indies were kind of a big campaign force during the ballot, so not only would some of the fans there feel upset that their voices weren't herd, but there was a significant Hatedom for the concept in and of itself, arguing that no indie "deserves" to be in smash. So, it's very likely that the anti-indie faction will take a "we told you so!" stance to antagonize the people who did support them.
Sure, new characters and stuff is great, regardless of who they are, but when you give the people in this fandom any kind of reason to get up in arms, nine times out of ten, they'll take it and run with it.
But that's just what I'm talking about. No matter what happens, people are going to be upset regardless, especially because it's this fandom, which is already notoriously fractured as is. Worrying about the fandom gaining another Base Breaker in a field of Base Breakers just feels like a fruitless effort. It's an inevitable fate.
All we can really do is prepare for it.
Yeesh, we are probably as fractured as the Sonic fanbase.
Though, why would anyone have not wanted Sonic to be in Brawl? The whole "Not a Nintendo character" meant shit back then because Snake was announced. I guess maybe hating Sonic was really trendy then (though it's also trendy now).
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I think the Fire Emblem fandom is the worst I've ever been in in terms of divides. I dunno, it might be because this thread is the most of my interaction with the Smash Fandom and everyone here is pretty nice and barely ever argues.
I also might be a bit biased because no other fandom has given me anxiety attacks.

@ME Kristian: Oh, you think I'm talking about Awakening's fanbase? I wish.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.

I wish I played it more. For some reason it runs super slow on the computer here... then again we loaded it via browser. Maybe we should download it instead...?
I love how Samus is Melee levels of fun and good, though. That's the only way Samus should be in Smash~
