IIRC, the best Mii Fighter is a light Brawler with Shot Put, Onslaught, Helicopter Kick, and Feint Jump. If with equipment, I'd imagine forgoing Defense for Speed and a slight Attack boost is admirable.
My favorite Mii Fighter is the Brawler. My personal Mii uses Ultimate Uppercut, Onslaught, Helicopter Kick, and Foot Flurry.
I love the repetitive attacks most. And Helicopter kick is my favorite up special ever, because it carried you up vertically and with a lot of kicks in it.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayOn the other hand, this also means Mii Gunner usually won't have a staff/wand as a weapon, as that's more likely on the Mii Swordfighter. It's not really that bothersome, imo. Magic is too often basically projectiles, so I get why it's done that way.
I'd just like a more generic Mii Wizard-style costume(with a long staff more akin to a walking stick) for the Mii Swordfighter. Yes, it's because of my Quest 64 bias, but it'd look cool regardless. There's a lot you could make using that, a Gandalf Mii, a D&D Mii, heck, even characters from Golden Sun(And Gauntlet!). There's other games, I'm sure, but nothing I can think of.
Shadow? The barehanded telekinetic one with four jumps is just so that I can make Dragon Ball characters (mostly Chiaotzu).
A number of the Mii Fighter moves are basically copied from the various fighters already in the game, such as the Mii Gunner being a better Samus joke. But, it becomes a lot harder to apply things like, say, Jigglypuff's Rollout when the Mii isn't shaped like a balloon.
Also, you forgot Bowser, Yoshi, both Kongs, Game & Watch, Dedede, the rest of the pokemon, and in a bit more "blurry" for your definitions, Sonic and Wario.

Except for Yoshi, I didn't forget them. The rest are very strongly human shaped. Hell, DK is about the closest species to a human.
Just because they can't get something from everyone doesn't mean they have a limitation, as you just pointed out yourself. They've also got original moves too.

...I've played Shrek Super Slam. It actually retroactively played more like PS All-Stars than any Smash Bros. game: You can fall off the (3D plane, btw) stage, but you'll only score points if you hit opponents with your meter-earned super move. It was actually pretty fun for what it was, in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit! If PTE didn't have, like, bare minimum voice clips or really wonk physics or a severe lack of E En E I'd love to give it a go. Maybe it's still worth it?
For Smash clones here I've only played Rivals of Aether. I want to love it, I really do, but I just can't get over the fact that smash attacks are mapped to their own button.

Out of curiosity, what is the general consensus of fangames in the SSB fandom? Does it depend on the game?

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Wait, so there is an option for it to be traditional Smash inputs?
...derr, my whoopsies. I'll figure that out later today.
I think general consensus is fangames are fun, but as usual the rosters are points of contention in spite of not being actual Smash games. From what I've heard: Flash 2 is really solid if you ignore the anamoo characters (which, because it's a fangame, I don't mind) and Crusade has an awesome roster but terrible balance.
And you forgot Billy & Mandy.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaThey really need to make a sequel with Finn and Jake and characters from Steven Universe.

I'm usually a good loser when it comes to playing with other people. The only exceptions were when I went up a really good Dedede who I just couldn't seem to dodge no matter how hard I tried and especially when I fought a really good Peach player who handed be my butt no matter who I played with. In the latter case, I wound up so frustrated with him/her that I made my first (and so far, only) real Rage Quit when I simply said "Screw it" and dove off the stage mid-match. It took me a while before I felt up to going online again.
