Hey, I main Robin myself. I'm not looking down on the character. Just saying that Nairo sticks to what's proven to work, for him. He plays to win, which means using the most optimal character and strategy he can.
And yeah, just because Nairo is the best player who plays Robin, doesn't mean he's the best Robin.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I remember his reasoning for going Robin and Meta-Knight...actually I can only remember the Meta-Knight part, but he wanted to see how Zero reacted to multiple Up Airs into an Up B which is something both Zero Suit Samus and Meta-Knight can do. I believe the Robin part had something to do with Robin's down throw.
In a game like Smash where mobility is key, having atrocious mobility usually means the character better be overtuned in other aspects (like DDD's chaingrab in Brawl invalidating characters) to make it up for it.
And Robin had the luck of being the only character that has to deal with an ammo gimmick on top of that.
I like the character and I find him fun to play but I can't really see him as high tier, mid tier seems about right for him since he still hits pretty damn hard if he has the Levin Sword.
Robin does absymally on Smashville or Final Destination, I think. Stages with platforms are his paradise, since he can play trickier with the Levin Sword/Arcfire and doesn't need to worry about his horizontal mobility nearly as much.
I messed around with him (in my case, her) recently and she's loads of fun. I don't know why, my best guess is just the Levin Sword and how much kick it has to it.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI do think though that people don't quite exploit Robin as much as they can. Waiting for him to waste the Levin Sword by playing defensively and then going crazy on him for the brief moment the sword is gone makes so that even if he grabs you he won't be able to kill you with D-Throw -> Levin Up-Air among other things. I don't think people have used Robin's ammo mechanics against him as much.

"When someone mentions the word 'tier', first shout out our motto. Then proceed with 1 of 5 options: Hit them with the Wiimote. Hit them with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. With them with the classic controller. Hit them with the Game Cube controller. If you are using a Wireless Game Cube controller, first remove the battery and jam it in their eye, then proceed with hitting them with the controller. Please note, however, if your Wiimote has a Wiimote jacket, before striking the offender, please either remove the Wiimote Jacket or superglue nails to the top of the Wiimote Jacket."
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Those shorts were hilarious...
"Um, did we just do it?" -Mega Man
"Don't worry, I have a lot of experience putting on women's clothing." -Snake
The entire Mario vs. Link short because of Zelda and Peach "cheering" them on.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY?!?" -Kirby reacting to a dick being made for Stage Builder
"What the hell? Where'd you come from? -gets puked on- This is so fucking disgusting" -Kirby upon seeing Petey Piranha
And of course, all of the King Dedede's PSA shorts
Snake, Kirby, King Dedede and Ganondorf were the funniest characters in those shorts.

A series of sprite based shorts called "Smash Kingdom".
This is the 33 minute video combining both Smash Kingdom and its sequel, Smash Kingdom Melee
Here is Smash Kingdom Lost Levels

- Fox: About damn time you showed up! We've been waiting for you!
- Meta Knight: Shut the hell up, I always arrive fashionably late! Now you ready to get this under way? (Fox pulls out blaster) What the fuck are you trying to do? (Meta Knight uses Dimensional Cape, Fox fires, Meta Knight K Os Fox from behind)

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Whenever someone says "tiers are for queers," I say, "nice try, but I'm still not picking Sheik."
...I'm very, very flamboyantly pan.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWhile this is going on; possible alternate customs for Samus' missiles:
- Seeker Missiles: fires five missiles at once instead of Super Missile. Missiles may have less homing or be weaker, I dunno.
- Ice Missiles: Fires missile that freezes at higher percents. Diffusion Missiles instead of Super Missiles, with a freezing effect that weakens the further from the initial blast.
Beams are harder because of the differences between Prime and the rest of the series...
Maybe instead of Seeker Missiles, we have... say, the Magmaul.
- Magmaul: An arcing projectile that ignites for continuous damage. Doing a Smash input will launch the projectile faster and further, at the cost of a lobbed angle to set up tricks with.
I dunno, it's just an idea.

Marth was always a popular character among the Japanese FE fanbase. In fact, he was by far the most demanded FE character for Smash over in Japan pre-Melee.

Nairo doesn't play Robin or Lucina in tournaments anymore, alas. Unless he's deliberately not trying to win, as with his first set versus Zero in Big House 5.
