But then he'd lose Chomp.
I'unno, I am sorta disappointed that the Wario we have has no reference to the Land series and only like two moves that can be considered directly inspired by Ware, but at the same time he's goddamn fun to play as the way he is, and don't want him to change. It's a sticky wicket.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I don't even mind the lack of Wario Land reference in his moves anymore (although changing the forward smash was kinda dumb), I just want... I dunno. A stage from the series might be a bit much, but we could at least get more music than just a single non-remixed track from Shake It.
a.k.a. Cly, that one girl who doesn't post here much anymore Something something YI = SMW 2 = SMB 5.Shake It had such a great soundtrack, so it's sad to see it go mostly unrepped.
Wario World also had a great soundtrack, including this gem
.
Again, it wouldn't hurt to make the Shoulder Bash his dash attack. I think it had too little range in Brawl for a forward smash.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Lucas' abilities in MOTHER 3 are very similar to Ness' in Earth Bound. Both have PSI abilities mostly oriented towards defense and support, with the exception of their extremely powerful signature abilities: PK Love for Lucas and PSI Rockin for Ness. These are both functionally identical, dealing heavy damage to all enemies.
In terms of stats, both have high offense, defense and HP, but low speed.
Ness has much more effective healing PSI than Lucas and can use paralysis and hypnosis which Lucas lacks. He can also teleport, but only outside of combat.
Lucas has a couple of different shield abilities for lessening and reflecting both physical and psychic damage, where Ness has just the one physical shield. He can also use defense and attack buffs where Ness can't, and he has the Refresh technique which heals the party over time.

Lucas, much like Ness was in Earth Bound, was a support character with only one attack move (PK Love).
...That was more elaborate. Listen to them.

Yeah, ![]()
is what he does. His main job is to keep the party going at peak conditions and still be able to deal and take damage when he's not healing/buffing or on the off chance there isn't anyone else to do the fighting.
Fire/Thunder/Freeze are all Kumatora's skills, but I don't mind Lucas having them since they are basically the same ability focused towards different skill sets.

What buffs? What does the Psychic Shield do? What does Love do? What is Love?

Both Ness and Lucas are bulky support tanks. They specialize in healing or shielding their allies, though they both can hit hard with high physical attack or their signature PSI moves, Rockin' and Love respectively.
They also both learn PK Flash.
Paula and Kumatora are the offensive mages who specialize in elemental PSI. Jeff and Duster are supporting guys who can't use PSI but have a number of interesting utilities and items they could use to trip up enemies. They also boasted good attack power. Poo was a Red Mage nested between Ness and Paula in terms of abilities, while Boney had high speed and the ability to sniff out enemy weaknesses, making him a good scout and item user.

You forgot the part where Poo was kinda hard to use- Most equipment he could use lowered his abilities instead of enhancing them and he even couldn't get much use from foods unfamiliar to him. He's better than no fourth hand but he takes a long time to come into his own, especially if you're not into grinding for 1/128 drops.
IIRC Poo actually had the highest base attack stat of all the player characters, but because his only weapon wasn't even that strong, Ness (and I think Jeff?) would hit harder anyway.
Still, Starstorm :P
Also: Can you do the Gan Can?
One other thing about Lucas is that Mother 3 has a battle mechanic that, when attacking normally, you have the ability to strike multiple times by tapping along to the 'heartbeat' of the music that's playing. There are like 50 battle themes in the game, but roughly half of them are variations on the other half that intentionally mess up the rhythm to screw up the player's timing. Most of the regular themes have a standard 4/4 or 3/4 beat that are simple enogh to follow, but there are some that dive nose first into Uncommon Time, including one that goes at 29/15 time
at the endgane. It's certainly something I've never seen before in other JRP Gs, at any rate.
My argument was that he still essentially was the same as he was in Smash 4 from a gameplay-wise, just more unique animation and movseset wise, esssentially being better in every way, both from a competitive point and a non-competitive point (uniqueness and brutal animations). Essentially, I was saying that Smash 4 Ganondorf has no real advantage over PM Ganondorf.

I mean, I'd shoot for something like giving Wario the Shoulder Charge or the EarthShake Punch for his Standard Special and something like Puffy Wario or Spring Wario for his Up Special, but I'd leave the unique mechanics of his other two specials alone. Make him both Wario Land and WarioWare-referential, not just one or the other.

I sure said that!
