Yeah that's pretty unrealistic to think a majority of people who saw the opportunity to cast a vote for a Smash Bros. character squandered it on jokes. I would bet a lot that those at the top of the polls were almost certainly eligible characters, and that only a small minority were jokes/unrealistic.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorI dunno. There could be a significant ammount of people that simply don't know any better and voted for the likes of DBZ's Goku.
Shrek votes? Those I'm not seeing ever being there in a significant number.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Also, Nintendo was specifically asked if Third Party characters were allowed to be entered when one aspect of it said to "vote for your favourite Nintendo character"; they said it was perfectly fine to vote for non-Nintendo characters.
While licensing may effect who would or would not get in, it is not a good enough argument to write any character off completely, as long as they originate from a video game.
On the one hand, you have to consider that all those fan polls could necessarily only take into account the opinions of people who knew about them, meaning people who actually take part in fandom activities to some degree. On the other hand, I'm not sure how many people who didn't know any better would even have voted in the official poll anyway, whether for a lack of caring or a lack of internet literacy or some other reason.
Does anyone know which equipment effects stack and which don't? I'm making a Ban Mii Fighter and I need to know whether Auto-Healer or Vampire stack.

Because if there was actually some crazy possibility that they would be added, Nintendo would have to get into all that copyright junk.
I heard that they had more BS to deal with concerning the Pokémon than the 3rd party characters, because TPCi is really stingy with their property. It shouldn't be that much of a hassle, especially since some companies like Microsoft having gone on record stating they'd be cool with their stuff being included if they were asked.
I've noticed.
In Super Mario Maker, the Pokémon amiibos don't make any special sounds, any special poses, or any special songs when they win or die.
It's like they're not actually PART of Nintendo. >_> <_<
Or maybe that's something different.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI also know that Way Forward and Yacht Club games are fine with Shantae and Shovel Knight getting in.
Plus, Sega, Namco, and Capcom would likely be fine with more of their characters getting in.
I only see Square-Enix and Konami being problems for getting their characters in (or back in, in Snake's case).
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Well, most problems are going to be business-related; companies want certain ammounts of money just for Nintendo to get those characters in the game, and then a fraction of the profits from sales of the game/character.
And, obviously, the bigger the company and character, the more money they'll likely charge Nintendo for the inclusion.
I still think it would've been awesome (and made somewhat more sense) if "Kingdom Hearts" was a Disney/Nintendo thing. The two cover similar grounds in their respective media, so it'd only make sense if a colaboration of some sort ever came to be.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."

Apparently Rock Kirby can't fall off ledges at all...any ledges besides the one ledge on the right side of Picto-chat where that screen rumbling bug would happen in Brawl.
