Not exactly about fan games, but here is an interesting video for Smash fans craving for more Platform Fighters in general.
How do you guys feel about Rivals of Aether? I've been thinking of buying it because it looks like a rather interesting take on the SSB formula.
It's definitely popular enough and different enough to warrant its own thread. Hopefully the thread populates otherwise this will be an embarrassing failure of a thread creation and I'll live in shame forever.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeYa mean like so
?
Because your links kept sending me to my thread watch list.
And I'm interested in it, though it is still in early access, which means everything can change at any moment.

yeah! There's even a neat thread you can talk about Ro A here!
okay so shameless thread insert aside, you should go there. There are a lot of difference between Smash and Ro A that are fun to point out, especially just mechanic wise. And the thread needs something to talk about.
okay, i get what you're saying. though, hopefully the smash formula stops staying exclusive to smash and nintendo characters. imagine if the 2-d fighter formula permanently stuck with Street Fighter and no one else made any fighting games like it!

Well, it's not exclusively Nintendo characters that have to make me want to play a Smash style game. Cause I do like Punch Time Explosion, which uses Cartoon Network characters. And Smash Flash 2 definitely has it's fair share of third party and non-video game characters.
I still wish I was able to get Crusade to run properly.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I know it's totally unfair for me to dismiss a game for such shallow reasons, and I fully acknowledge that and I'm sure ROA is good.
But I'm not interested in it because I love Smash more for being a video game generation's celebration of my favorite game company and its franchises. Which I certainly enjoy the gameplay, I enjoy Smash more for seeing my favorite characters interacting, fighting, and the cute/funny descriptions on the trophies.

Someone's obviously forgetting one of the greatest Xbox series of all time: Halo!
Also, Super Smash Bros. is the best name for the series. What other names could possibly be better and not generic?
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!
