Hearing that Wolf and Lucas are clones does come close for me, but "items make the game fun" takes the cake in elitism I've heard.
If only because it shows that you think the game is no fun if someone else hates items (like me. I can take having a select few but I don't like using all of them.)
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I know an elitist. I've mentioned him on here before. He acts like melee is better than smash 4 (it isn't), insists that melee isn't a stale metagame (it is), and thinks he's better than the rest of my friends because he plays melee (which he isn't even good at).
And don't even try to insist that you want to play melee in English.
Not to mention he's a total tier-whore for both melee and smash 4. And he constantly complains about various things in smash 4 and how they were better in melee, and "that would have worked in melee!"
The guy is basically the definition of who you say "No Johns" to as well.
Shit's ridiculous.
"Items make the game fun" isn't elitist. It's an opinion.
Saying "Real Smashers always use items" is elitist.
But also, so is saying "Real Smashers never use items."
It's saying that the way you play is the "right" way to play.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayThat's only bad if you don't have fast reaction reflex.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. There is just so much smoke around potential Smash reveals lately. Hoping we see the fire soon.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guy

My little brother once insisted that Wolf was a straight up clone, and his only argument was that his Final Smash was the same as Fox's.
