The problem is that Golden Sun hasn't had a game that was very well known in forever.

Basically, Lost Age came out too early to be relevant by the time Brawl rolled in and Dark Dawn underperformed enough to make Nintendo pull the plug on the series in addition to again being too early to be relevant for Smash 4.

I sure said that!

The only was Isaac would get in is if Nintendo had secretly been working on a huge and revolutionary Golden Sun game for a while, and they want to advertise that.

Well, in the base game anyways. In terms of the ballot, it's still up in the air, really.

Golden Sun U: A New Age.

Alchemy has returned to Weyard. New adepts are springing up everywhere. New Dark and Light adepts are appearing and causing chaos in the world.

And released alongside are Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter djinn amiibos.

I don't know what the VC sales of the first two games are, but hopefully they sold enough to show Nintendo that people are still interested in the series.

evidently not considering he wasn't in smash 4 at all.

He was an assist trophy in Brawl. The fact that he was removed says that they at least considered upgrading him like Little Mac. They even added music from Dark Dawn into the Wii U version of Smash.

Also, keep in mind that when Smash 4 was released, only the first GS game was on the VC. Considering their One Game for the Price of Two nature, I wouldn't be surprised if the sales of the first one got a boost from the second one being released.

As much as I dislike Golden Sun, I'm still disappointed at the lack of Isaac, even if he was an assist again. I also thought that it'd be neat if the Djinn actually showed up as Assist Trophies, based on a couple of ideas I kicked around with my brothers.note

I got Lost Age used before the first game because my parents didn't know better. :P I played it a lot before I played the first game.

And Dark Dawn was fun, but I hated that Point of No Return in the middle...

Why do games do that? For plot reasons? I can understand if like something blows up and you can't get back in, but don't put something that will be Lost Forever like special weapons or items or summons... in a place that you can't get back to.

It makes my completionism itch.

When it's poorly used, it's a(nother) method of Artificial Difficulty created to facilitate longevity without really doing anything meaningful enough to truly warrant the replaying. At least that's how I see it.

It varies from game to game.

Xenoblade, for example, is rife with points of no return, but it features a New Game Plus system and allows you to carry over all your progress and almost all your items, so you can just snag what you missed on the replay. The Metroid Prime games feature lots of limited-time scans, but the pickups are never locked out, and as of Prime 3 and the remakes the scans carry over into a New Game Plus, so picking up what you missed is easy as well.

Games that lock you out of content unexpectedly yet require you to do a hard reset if you want a second chance are a pain, though. Looking at you, Master Ball in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Or you, "Naked and Unloved" title in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

That's my least favorite thing about games. Anything that requires you to start entirely over to get something.

Okay. One last comment about what I want changed to Zelda's moveset.

Din's Fire: let it always have an active hitbox the moment it comes out and have the fireball drag people in if the fireball comes into contact with them and then Zelda can explode it anytime she wants. This would probably make Din's Fire her most damaging special move if you're right in front of Zelda.

Also, I'm rather sad that Golden Sun is going the way of Advance Wars. I remember in the mid-2000s when Advance Wars was actually more well-known and popular than Fire Emblem.

... You mean those two years between Advance Wars being released and Fire Emblem being released in the West?

I would say Advance Wars 1, Black Hole Rising, and Dual Strike were more popular than what Fire Emblem currently had in Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, and Path of Radiance.

I wouldn't, because both were ultimately niche series. Fire Emblem may not have been more popular, outside of Melee including Marth and Roy, but I wouldn't describe Advance Wars as more popular either.

Just because both were niche doesn't mean one can't be more popular than another.

Also doesn't mean that one was more popular that the other.

I don't like King K Rool for many reasons. One is his ridiculous design. He looks like a silly cartoon villain. Even Bowser in his comical appearances managed to look fearsome and bad.

Second is his personality. Aside forom the usual, what's so special about him? He just seems like a Bowser replacement so DK can have something to fight.

I don't like him and I'm honestly astounded as to how he is so popular.

You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!

It's not like they'd take Bowser out of the game, though.

There's probably a nostalgia element too, and he'd probably bring something new moveset wise. Also, I see nothing wrong with having a cartoony villain- I think it makes them more memorable. Or something.

I can't speak for your other points, though, as this is coming from someone who hasn't played a DK game.

Also, Bowser can look plenty silly sometimes

None of those would be reasons why he'd replace Bowser...

I think he means in terms of the DK games; the whole "Bowser to DK's Mario" thing.
