I'm down to play whatever, but prefer competitive. I'm the best of my friends, but I'm not particularly fantastic at the game.
That said, I'm always able to at least even out the game against really high level people. I just can't beat them.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-Mae2 for everything else in the series, with 3 as far as 4 is concerned.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyProbably skewing considerably towards the casual end. I can play competitively if I want to (or at least try to, anyway), but I'm not ready for serious competitive play, and I prefer just playing for fun, anyway.
"I'm glad I don't wear shoes or else I'd have to always get shoes in two different sizes. ...If you know, you know!"I honestly don't know what my skill level counts as.
And For Glory is a poor testing ground for this since you are just as likely to get completely stomped, walled by constant projectiles, have someone try and fail to wall you with really slow projectiles or win due to moronic suiside-b.

I'd set myself as Level 2 (decidedly) Casual. I've barely touched "For Glory", but I play "For Fun" regularly when I'm in the mood for some smashing. I consider surviving the chaos the items and stages throw at players to be part of what makes the game interesting.
I very rarely get opportunities to play against human opponents in person, but when I'm playing online For Fun, I usually hold my own. Sometimes I completely dominate the group I get thrown in with, sometimes I get dead last several times in a row and drop out of the group, but usually I put up a decent fight.
I do wish there were a way to do For Fun stock matches, though (I play on the 3DS. I don't have a Wii U).
Supposedly Shovel Knight is coming as well as a Runbow stage.
It has some merit to it, but of course be wary.
according to this update Shantae will be a costume and that's saddening.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHad a thought.
So, if Krystal got added to the game, and her moveset had her use Star Fox Assault weaponry (grenades, sensor mines, homing rocket launchers, sniper lasers, etc) to basically emulate Solid Snake's old moveset, how big do you think the flame wars would be?
I have a message from another time...I'm not really sure what to do with Smash 4 anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I am finding it really starting to get less enjoyable as time goes by. I even found myself instantly demoralized just by switching the Wii U version on recently.
I have actually found my skills in the game getting worse as time goes on (despite my brother saying otherwise) and characters I used to be somewhat decent at I am no longer that good with. Furthermore, I feel like just throwing in the towel at the start of a match now rather than even even trying anymore (due to me feeling like the match already has a forgone conclusion)
I have also had it drummed into me that if I win in any competitive game, I am being cheap and/or cheating (to the point my opponent once called me a cheap [censored] after they lost) but I am terrible if I lose (or just terrible in general). This whole thing seems to demoralize me even faster and it is starting to leak into other competitive games I play too. I know I need to get a thicker skin, but after getting the same treatment over and over again, you start to believe it more and more.

Don't let what others say get to you. I know it's difficult, but it's feasible.
Trust me, I don't like playing board games where you kill the other players because everyone's strategy is to kill me first. They if they don't, I'll win. I only have this happen in SSB if I'm up a stock over my friends who seem to think it's slightly unfair if I don't lose a single stock in a match.
Krystal: I don't know about her chances because Wolf is second only to K. Rool in terms of how much the Japanese want him as DLC. Though Krystal has the potential to play differently from Fox, Falco, and Wolf, being completely original instead of having similar specials.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Look, if people really wanted to win, they would learn to Rosolina.
But really, it shouldn't matter what other people say, especially when they lose. It helps to remove your sense of public shame, like I have.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.

Bruno: Both, most places I play online prefer competitive ruleset so.
