Can someone please tell me how you vote on the Smash Ballot exactly?

I put in an entry for Lyn from Fire Emblem but I doubt she'd get chosen. She's a great character and if I never played Brawl I never would have seen her.

I've never run into any Melee players like that irl. Most of my friends are more casual while I'm more hardcore.

Not really related to Smash Bros, but Shantae and the Pirate's Curse now has a Japanese release date. Get your inevitable arguments ready, I guess.

And for something more on-point, has anybody else noticed some some really weird "habits" that the AI seems to display?

They tend to go for grabs a lot, sometimes when it's not even the best move for the situation.

Ah, Shantae, eh? I don't know how to feel about Pirate's Curse.

On the one hand, it's a great game, and the pirate equipment is all very fun to use, opens up new areas intuitively, and is just badass and makes you feel really powerful. Especially after you get the boots and hat.

On the other hand, that's exactly the problem. The pirate equipment is so much better than the transformation dances that are the series's staple powerup and puzzle tool. And it's only gonna be used for one game, because not having the dances was specifically a one-game story thing. As such, I'm worried about how the next game will play.

After seeing that Magolor apparently has a bunch of voters, I want to vote for him.

It'd be nice to have someone else from Kirby, and he's arguably one of my favorite characters.

I might use another computer to also put in a vote for Wonder Red.

I wonder what his stage would be. Bow of the Virgin Victory?

Probably something involving the rest of the Wonderful 101.

So the Virgin Victory, then. Or maybe Blossom City.

Has anyone ever noticed that in Smash Run, the Orne music can get overridden by other music (such as the Reaper music or even the Starman music) if something begins playing? I found this out the hard way last night when I was fighting a Reaper (with its music playing) and ran backwards almost into an Orne, which I didn't realize was there because I didn't hear its music. It scared me so bad I quit the match, nearly wet myself, and even had two bad dreams after going to sleep. I wish I were making this up. (Call me a wimp if you want, but I've never liked Ornes.

What do Ornes look like? It's been a while since I last played Uprising.

And if you go into a Challenge Door and you have a Normal-Difficulty Survive thing, you have to make it against an Orne, and it's a pain in the ass to dodge.

The legend has returned.

[up] It's not as bad if your Speed and Jump stats are pretty high, but if you're playing as, say, Ganondorf with Attack and Defense maxed out for example...well, that's when the Orne challenge door is nigh Unwinnable.

For some reason I always lose against Lucinas online. I don't know why I have such a tough time against my own main's clone. Meanwhile I'm generally doing a lot better overall now but my connection is laggy af.

On a not-really-related-to-Smash topic, Lucina Figma get.

On an actually related to smash topic, I learned today that counters can tank Marth's critical hit... but can't actually retaliate because of invincibility frames.

[up] I love that figure! I want her so bad but a hundred bucks is a bit steep..

I once fought this one team in For Glory that played as Link and Lucario and spammed arrows/energy balls the WHOLE match!

It was so annoying because I didn't know how to get in close.

They had her on Amazon for all of two seconds before she was sold out. Trust me, of all the amiibo, she was the one I actively tried to preorder but she was gone.

Later on I saw that some people had multiple tabs open and kept refreshing and still they never saw her.
