If Ganondorf gets the stun with his Final Smash but doesn't hit with the actual attack, it's a spike.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardEspecially since we've got an overtly badass warrior Impa now instead of a shriveled old lady or an implicit but unseen badass warrior.
Considering how the Hyrule Warriors "core" cast are meant to be relatively general versions of the characters, I'd be on-board with Scarf Link, Armor Zelda and Mane Ganondorf becoming the standard look in Smash.
I sure said that!I've got a little tale here:
I was at the house of a friend of the family. There are two boys (elementary school aged) there and we played some Wii games, one of which was Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. I actually did sing the first verse of the DK Rap and the boys laughed having no idea what the fuck I was singing .
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Ideas for new and renewed Zelda characters based on Hyrule Warriors.
Link: Eh, he's solid. Maybe replace Triforce Slash with the Skyward Strike Spin Attack thing from HW, with some Triforce glowiness, or something.
Zelda: Swap out her magic palm strikes with her rapier. Would improve her melee range, which is good for a keepaway sort of character. Swap Phantom Slash with Command Rod. It would have 3 customs, like all moves. The first is exactly like Phantom Slash currently is. Swing the rod, summon a Phantom, cut the enemy. Variant 2 would be Owl Statue. The thing would pop out of the ground in front of Zelda, launching enemies upward. Variant 3 would be Hammer Statue. That one swings downward, burying any poor enemies who get caught.
Sheik: Replace one of her moves (I'm thinking perhaps Bouncing Fish?) with Goddess Harp. A move where Sheik plays the harp for about a second, and places an effect on the field. Standard move would be Nocturne of Shadow; places a seal on the floor that does damage and creates a suction effect towards its center if stepped on. Variant 2: Bolero of Fire; creates a seal on the floor that automatically explodes into fire after about a second of chargeup. Mostly useful for edgeguarding or denying approaches. Variant 3: Song of Storms; a non-flinch-causing hurtbox surrounds Sheik for a few seconds. Can't move foes, but will damage them. Like a melee Fox's Blaster. Swap her Final Smash to Minuet of Forest. Anyone close to Sheik when the move is activated is trapped into the move, which has Sheik play a magic song which causes a small copse of trees to instantly sprout up around her, launching everyone into the sky.
Ganondorf: Change his costume. Oh, and make him a bit faster. And add a projectile variant of Warlock Punch where he's punching a big ball of dark magic, shattering it into bullets. And maybe add some sort of unique mechanic to his weird bomb kick. Maybe based on his dark meter in HW. Like, you build up a meter similar to Little Mac's by landing moves like Wizard Foot or Flame Choke, which powers up the explosion kick's radius and power. And at full charge, it gives you hella super armor. Though you can still get grabbed. And maybe change it from a weird kick to his classic earthshattering punch.
Toon Link: Whatever HW does to him, I guess. I'm sort of hoping he'll be wielding trains.
Young Link: Either give him a 3-form Pokemon Trainer-ish setup with the Deku, Goron, and Zora masks, or (if you still can't do transformations), give him a melee combo setup similar to Hyrule Warriors, with him wielding a large-for-him blade in two hands and primarily making use of good old Sword Beams. Fierce Deity Mask would be his final smash, possibly as a Wario Man-style massive power up. I'm tempted to give him some sort of weird mechanic based on the HW incarnation which would allow him to trigger his own Final Smash sans Smash Ball under extreme circumstances, but that just sounds insane in the context of Smash.
Impa: Wielding both the Giant Blade and Naginata for a moveset with long reach and acrobatic movements. I'm thinking:
B: Flame Wall: A spin of the naginata that drops a flame pillar in front of Sheik, deterring approach.
Side B: Focus Slash: Similar to the Giant Blade's special move in HW. A charged dashing slash, similar to Ike's Critical.
Down B: Blade Counter: This space intentionally left blank
Up B: Corkscrew rise: A twisting leap upward, with sword in hand. Can be followed up with a downward spin.
Final Smash: Execution Ritual: A big old ring of naginata-shaped flames appears in front of Impa, and causes a suction effect to its center, before slamming down for massive damage.
The only real MOVESET changes I'd bring in from HW would be giving Sheik some kunai for her A attacks, and replacing her redundant Final Smash with the harp's Special Attack.
And perhaps draw from Ganondorf's animations, but that would imply changing Ganondorf's moveset to use swords in the first place.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
This, regarding Sheik. She's pretty much great and unique as is, except I agree that her Final Smash is redundant.
I'd also add Impa, as I mentioned on my wishlist, but I think that might be the only LOZ character I'd add. I like the rod change for Zelda's Down+B. While I'd like her to have her rapier, that's too many swords going around, and I like her as a mage; I just think her throws and Dair need to be actual kill moves. As for Ganondorf...
Having thought on it, Ganondorf has undergone Luigification a little so far, that only a couple more changes may finish it off.
- Add his Hyrule Warriors swords to his standard model, keeping most of his A moves the same, except with an extended hitbox on what were formerly punches.
- Change his Up+B into a rising vacuum charge, then burst of dark energy, resembling Mewtwo's Nair, and keeping the vacuum property from his up tilt.

For Ganondorf, I propose changing a few of his tilts and smashes (Probably the D-tilt, U-tilt, U-smash, and F-smash) to use his sword rather than hands and feet. The general properties of the moves can stay the same aside from slightly increased range, though.
For his Specials, I suggest replacing the Warlock Punch with Dead Man's Volley, as many people suggest, and making his Up Special less like Falcon Dive and more of its own unique thing. Maybe have him rise up and then do an earthquake punch, but like with Dedede's you can cancel the downward punch?
As for other LOZ characters, I can see Impa working; she's been in more than one game and has moveset potential thanks to HW. I can also see Lana working because she has tremendous moveset potential, but she only has one game under her belt and it's a spinoff, so...

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Liberation: I dunno really the thing with greninja is the closest we have to a top player live in Japan
Liberation:there's also Fullmoon, who has made a name for himself as an online warrior
Full Moon: aMSa and Some are probably the best ones
Full Moon: Also I made a name for myself? lol
Liberation: I actually hear your name get tossed around a lot.
Seriously, how is this happening
Could be worse, I suppose. WFT pretty much only has TK Breezy, I think. Unless he switched. Either way, I think he does more tournament commentating than actual play.

Kirby's and Dedede's Up-B moves both spike on the way down. So can Ganondorf's Down-B at the start of the move.
