I've been thinking about this lately: I just can't win with having a person that definitely suits my playstyle in real life. I either get spammers, campers, or people who continuously bug me to turn items on (which I'd be more likely to do if you didn't bug me so much. And as long as the Poke Balls stay off).
Not saying that I hate playing Smash with my friends, but these seem to be the types of players I play against in real life. Though the items people (mostly. I'll still get the occasional person who wants items so much that he'll say to a classmate that missed out on playing Smash Wii U on the last day of the school year "you didn't miss much, he doesn't play with items").
Seriously, don't bug me continuously about items. That's pretty much going to guarantee you that I'll never turn them on. When I say "no", I mean "no". MAYBE I'll do a match with items on if you don't bug me.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I can ukemi, but sometimes you're getting bounced around at weird angles or too quickly, or an enemy smacks you and disrupts your ability to ukemi. Master Fortress's innards are very narrow so ukemi's harder to pull off if you get snagged in a bad area.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! You can actually ukemi as you hit the ground after the second wave begins, even though being blown away from Master Fortress doesn't damage you.
I wish you could ukemi after an opponent lands a footstool jump on you above the ground.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Good thing I never need to deal with Master Fortress on the 3DS. #3DSmasterrace
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Once I broke my circle pad once, I decided that was it. NO MORE SMASH 4 3DS.
Sold it.
I think the only reason I even pretend to be competitive is because the term "casual" is so caustic.
It used to mean "person who doesn't play for money", but when people say it now, it just means "subhuman who should break their disk and stab themselves with the shards".
I'd rather make my overall experience less enjoyable than be constantly pelted with a slur like that.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAs a completionist, I personally think that the 3DS version is better for completing.
While I'm not a fan of the 3DS's Classic Mode, the fact that the hardest challenge in it is simply beating 9.0 is much better than the Wii U's NEVER DIE ONCE challenge. There's so much RNG that can screw you over... I still haven't beaten it.
Also, Smash Tour sucks, while Smash Run is really awesome.
I'm down for some casual play. I'd like some friend codes with benefits.
By which I mean people who I can come over and play at their place, because I don't have a Wii U or 3DS.
I consider myself a cross between the two. I don't play with items like the competitive guys (I think most of them are really cheap), but I'm not skilled enough to truly I'm a competitive player. And I've not competed in official tournaments, but I would suck hard if I actually did. There are also behaviors of both sides that bug me. Complete assholes on the competitive side; and spammers, campers, and people who continuously bug me to put items on on the casual side.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I would consider myself casual as well. I can play (and have won) online matches on For Glory, but even if I was very interested in getting more into the competitive side of Smash, I have a really long way to go.
