You know I just noticed that the Pokémon characters in Sm4sh are pretty consistent height and weight-wise in regards to their values in their series.
Except for one outlier in each.
In weight it's Mewtwo who's the second lightest
In height it's Greninja who's the shortest in the whole game.

Perhaps Mewtwo looked at the metagame and figured being light was the way to go, while failing to realise that he should instead focus on crouching to have a smaller hitbox.
EDIT: There's also the possibility that it wasn't actually made for Smash - by which the scientists who made the ultimate weapon out of it didn't for a second think or know about how Smash even works. :P

Just because you have psychic powers doesn't mean you're smart. I don't know why so much fiction conflates the two.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.It would be funny to have a big brutish Dumb Muscle type who just so happens to have psychic powers, though.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Okay, Session 2 of my "All characters, all stages" run has ended, so here are the results:
CHARACTERS/STAGES USED:
- Zelda (Port Town Aero Dive)
- Sheik (Woolly World)
- Ganondorf (Yoshi's Island)
- Toon Link (Great Cave Offensive)
- Samus (Halberd)
- Zero Suit Samus (Orbital Gate Assault)
- Pit (Lylat Cruise)
- Palutena (Custom, Kalos Pokemon League)
- Marth (Pokemon Stadium 2)
- Ike (Onett)
- Robin (Female, Colosseum)
- Duck Hunt (Castle Siege)
- Kirby (Flat Zone X)
- King Dedede (Palutena's Temple)
Only replays not saved are for Pit and Ike.
WINS: All of them actually won. Little Mac is still the only character to have lost.
I'll tell you guys how I ended Ike's match:
My opponents for that one were Duck Hunt, Mario, and Mega Man. Mario is already out, but MM and Duck Hunt are on their last lives. I get the Smash Ball and unleash the Great Aether on them, winning the match.
All CP Us for this run are set to level 5 because I'll get destroyed if I attempt on level 9. Plus, they can still beat me on level 5 (like what happened with my Little Mac match. Though that is likely because that match was on Pyrosphere).
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!To be honest, Greninja doesn't look its height.
◊ (For reference, Delphox has the exact same height in the Pokedex).
Standing Greninja is taller than Lucario yet shorter than Charizard, like its given height.
◊
And, after all, Wolf was larger than Fox but stood shorter.

It's the whole "mind powers thing".
Mind over Matter meets Charles Atlas Ability.

A similar situation occurs with the Dark type. Even though it's called the "Evil" type in Japan, most Dark-type Pokémon aren't really evil, just...misunderstood at worst. They share the same type mainly because of underhanded fighting tactics.
One example would be, of course, Greninja.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy. If Robin returns for Smash 5, you know what's a good change I'd make (besides all the balance ones)? Change his down B from Nosferatu to Ignis.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Ryu I'm iffy on. Rest seem obvious to me. Pac-Man is far more iconic than Snake. Sonic is practically major friends with Nintendo now. And Mega Man is more iconic than Ryu overall(it's not a huge different in scale, though). Ryu still has a fair chance since Capcom is likely way easier to work with than Konami at this point. Likewise, Snake may come back for Smash 5 if Konami and Nintendo work together better. I doubt he'l be DLC, but it'd be nice.
Shadow?

Can we technically say that Young Link is back in the series because of the Fierce Deity alt?
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
