Anyone here know if DLC stages can show up while playing online?

Haven't seen any in 3DS For Fun or For Glory yet, but I doubt I've played as much as other people over the past few days.

I've been postponing my purchases until I have sufficient funds on my account to buy the full pack combo for both games- My emotional side wants everything on both consoles, my logical half knows waiting is the most reasonable way to get them.

If one on one battles have so much lag, the Free-for-Alls must be absolute Hell.

I think it's wise to focus on countering the DLC characters for the next week or two, rather than using them online.

I literally can't play as Ryu since I rely on my c-stick for tilts and having a severe incapability to do traditional fighting game inputs. Unfortunate...

I like Roy though, he plays like if Marth was specifically designed for my hands. I don't think they'll be a third or anything, but fun to play around with.

It's not like you need to perform the original motions. The differences seem to be pretty minor, all things considered.

Don't understimate the inputs. Take the Shoryuken for instance: With the usual input it can KO Ryu at around 135%, while with the SF input it can do so at around 90%, with the sweet addition of invincibility and less landing lag.

Yeah unfortunately you can't tell me "there's a stronger version of the same attack" and not expect me to feel a little lackluster about the easier, weaker version.

Ah well, by the sounds of it, Dedede shouldn't have a super hard time playing against Ryu, so I'm okay with that.

Adding to the earlier statement, it doesn't seem to matter whether or not a participant has one of them.

I have to say, I'm slightly troubled by how there seems to be zero reason to use then non-motion versions of Ryu's specials.

[up]I'm a tool who voted for Ridley, though Sami or Andy would be nice to see, too.

[up][up]It fits in with how in Street Fighter, there's no reason to use the weak versions of moves when the strong versions rarely have any downsides.

EDIT: Also, Krystal from Star Fox.

Yeah, but see, that doesn't make it a good design choice, especially not in a two-button fighter like Smash.

It's like how L-Canceling was always a dumb element- There are zero circumstances wherein removal or lowering of landing lag isn't desirable, so using L-Canceling was never a tactical decision.

I think the main reason to use the b inputs is when you're in the air, as all of them require you to press down, which will speed up your descent and make you likely to miss.

My Smash Ballot vote was for Dixie Kong.

I still don't understand why my friend would waste his vote and vote for Deadpool. It'd be cool and all but it is massive longshot at best.

Also, I got Lucas and the Mii costumes for Proto Man, X, Zero, and Heihachi. Helps that Proto and Heihachi already have Miis made by me that could benefit from the costumes. I just need to make X and Zero Miis and use their costumes.

I think I finally know why Wario was made into an unlockable in 4—he was the main reason Brawl was rated T for crude humor, so in order to further preserve this game's E10+ rating, they had to hide a fighter who has flatulence as one of his attacks.

Thanks to the shades on the helmet, you can stick just about any Mii in the two Proto Man costume parts and it'll work.

On the Ballot Vote, I voted for Shantae; Ironically because I saw bigger initial pushes for the two other characters who came to mind, and thought the half-genie would have a smaller support base than them. But as it's gone on, I've certainly felt more and more justified in my choice as opposed to the others.
