That's more or less how the games themselves describe them, though- And to be fair, they're kinda-sorta right, in that lightweight fighters can get launched further at lower % than heavyweights, and since the Smash series is Ring Out only, it makes a degree of sense to describe weight as the defense stat.
I sure said that!MFW at all the posts relating to Miiverse:
With how bizarre Miiverse is, I think everyone was expecting an endless barrage of memes and penises. (At least I was, anyway.) It must be very entertaining.
I haven't gotten any of the new characters yet, but I did play a For Fun match online just...well...for fun and one of my opponents was using Ryu. (Neither he or I won, unfortunately.)
"I'm glad I don't wear shoes or else I'd have to always get shoes in two different sizes. ...If you know, you know!"I don't think I've really expressed just how floored I am with Ryu myself. After they announced Mewtwo, I expected that if we got any more characters via DLC, they would also be fan favorites from previous Smash iterations with some similarities to characters already on the roster. Lucas and Roy definitely follow that trend. But Ryu... Ryu is a third party character from a series that hasn't had much presence on Nintendo consoles really since the SNES (the only relatively recent releases I can think of being the 3DS port of Super SF 4 and maybe Tatsunoko vs. Capcom). And not only that, but he has a completely unique fighting style that is both true to his source and feels entirely at home in Smash at the same time.
Ryu's knockback is nothing if not simply obnoxious; every other move he has knocks you straight into the air (something that I'm reasonably certain happens far less in the everyday 2D fighter, street or no street), and you have to put up with the extended lag normally reserved for otherwise threatening attacks every single time it does.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyStill, though, Gyromite/Stack-Up is the only franchise with a character but no stage at this point.
I mean, c'mon, you could totally make a stage that used the pillars from Gyromite and had a general aesthetic like the Subspace Bomb Factory, right?

I sure said that!

He's basically in the spot where Luigi used to be in Melee, and where Falco, Ganondorf, and Toon Link were in Brawl.
