But remember! No Miis or messages

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyEarlier today when I tried online I was wondering where all of the DLC bandwagoners were; sure enough, this time every last player I saw used one of the three.
Of note, apparently Kirby copies the 236A and 41236A motions with the Ryu hat as well! Bizarre when all of the other gimmicky Copy-B moves either have their special effects circumcised entirely and/or are just made outright inferior (nevermind customs), but an appreciated gesture nonetheless.

Plus it's a double reference, since Fighter Kirby uses that input in the Kirby games, too (at least the more recent ones).
Or maybe it's more of a 1.5 reference, since Fighter Kirby doing that is a reference to Ryu in the first place...
Speaking of which, does Ryu Kirby look identical to Fighter Kirby? I can't find a picture of him online.

Not really; he has the bandanna, but it's accompanied with Ryu's fuzz as well.
...Pffft. I used a download code to unlock Lucas on my 3DS version, and the milestone that came up described him as 'the Tasmilian Devil'. That's honestly even better than his 'comes out of Nowhere' tag, in my opinion.

Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805You know, where did people get the assumption that the Donkey Kong franchise wasn't all that popular over in Japan despite several of its games selling at least a million copies there? Seriously, somebody just made the inaccurate assumption that the DK franchise was unpopular over in Japan in the Broken Base page, which I don't understand.

The Huh, I assumed there would be some kind of moderation or curation system in place when I first heard about that Miiverse stage. I mean, I sometimes see questionable things in other games that incorporate Miiverse, but usually nothing too inappropriate. Are they making some kind of token effort to keep things under control that's failing due to the sheer number of people posting things, or is the content for that Miiverse stage actually unregulated? And if it is the latter, what on earth did Nintendo think would happen?

There's some degree of moderation, but they don't get everything. Some things will still stay up, even if they're a bit questionable in terms of appropriateness.
A lot of people seem to be worried miiverse will end up like swapnote did, especially after Splatoon's release with the memes all over it. The difference here is that swapnote was a "private" direct messaging service. Miiverse is a public forum. Something that definitely doesn't belong will be deleted, and the user punished.
I've never been off the Smash Hype Train. It's just that, like any other train, I tend to get lulled to sleep easily. But I'm up now.
As noted, it seems like Roy is in that semi-clone territory that a lot of others were back in Brawl. Would probably be nice to seem him diverge a bit in the next installment, but he's at least in a better spot that Lucina. Admittedly I'm being a bit nice because he's my Melee main.
Ryu, meanwhile, has blown all my expectations. Sakurai's taken the basic template of fighters and has made him one of the most complex characters in the game. Incorporating the classic joystick inputs, the combo potential, having two Final Smashes based on how far away the enemy is......I'm thoroughly impressed.
I'm also digging the Heihachi and Akira skins. Nintendo's really milking these new bridges with Sega, Capcom, and Namco for all they're worth. Can't exactly blame them.
Also like the Inkling stuff for the Miis. Even if the Inklings never make it until the next one it's good to have them by proxy.
What shocks me the most is that all of this is out. I would have fully expected and understood Nintendo dragging this out through the summer, but instead they shotgun this all at once. BRB heart attack.
Regarding Miiverse, I'd like to think that Nintendo learned their lesson well from Mario Kart DS.
