If I felt like being crazy, I'd put down NiGHTS.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I also give my vote to both Bayonetta and Shantae. Shantae has a much longer legacy than Shovel Knight in terms of being a Nindie character. Bayonetta because well, she's Bayonetta.
Also, if we get Ryu, I hope the opponent is shown like this
after the match if Ryu wins.

Your works are one trope short.Rayman I could see being possible, but unlikely. I'd really like to see another Metroid rep though, even if it's not Ridley. Sylux, Anthony, or Rundas would be neat additions. Gandrayda would be good too...but I don't think her copying ability would work out well if they tried to implement it.
As for Wolf, I liked him in Brawl, but I don't really care if he comes back or not.
Oh boy, possible Smash DLC wishlists:
- Wolf
- Dixie Kong
- Snake
- Simon Belmont
- Shantae or Shovel Knight
- Scorpion
- Bayonetta
- Wonder Red
- Viewtiful Joe
- Knuckles the Echidna
- Bass or Roll
- Issac from Golden Sun
- Viridi
- Krystal
- Vaati
- Paper Mario
And for characters that have no chance because they either aren't video game characters or haven't appeared in too many games on a Nintendo system, though I'd like them to be in:
- Goku
- Naruto
- Charlie Brown
- Lucy van Pelt
- Snoopy
- Batman
- Deadpool (funny enough, one of my CAD friends voted for him)
- Sailor Moon
- Inu Yasha
- Sango
- Aang
- The Powerpuff Girls
- Cloud Strife
- Geno
- Darth Vader
- Yoda
- Scrooge Mc Duck

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I would LOVE Shovel Knight.
I can imagine Wonder Red might be a possibility one of these days, with alts for each of the other main Wonderful Ones, as well as Vorkken and maybe Immorta or Luka, all given the Koopaling treatment. Probably one of the more taxing and expensive DLC character options, though, if it does happen.
I think part of that is because Bowser, Sonic, and Pac Man all had a cameo in that movie. Mario himself was mentioned by Felix. Capcom has characters present (though not Mega Man, though I heard that Wily was supposed to appear in the Bad Guys Anon scene). Plus, Ralph is playable in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
Eh...Ralph's movie is probably the only really good video game movie (this is not counting stuff considered to be So Bad, It's Good). The only other one I can name that was really good was the Sonic OVA.
I'm of the variety that having non-video game characters in Smash would be cool, even though they won't happen unless recreated via Miis (in fact, that's what my first thought was when Mii fighters were revealed).
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I like seeing all sorts of characters as Miis, maybe even costume stuff. But for the actual fighters I'd rather stick with just video game characters.
If I recall correctly, Wreck-It-Ralph had a video game. But I still consider him a movie character, and I'd kinda rather not have a bunch of movie-turned-game characters in the official roster. Sorry Harry Potter
Hmm... I guess it'd be cool if Ralph got in Smash, but only because I really like the movie, and to be honest, the Bowser cameo is what drew my attention to it in the first place.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardI think Wreck-It Ralph is the only non-game character I'd be comfortable with having a spot in Smash, since he already has strong video game ties and ties to Nintendo in particular.
Even then, I think he'd probably have to be DLC rather than a core game character. Like how Mario Kart 8 has its crossover characters as optional DLC.
"We're home, Chewie."

Considering Bomberman is a Konami property now and Konami is certain the future is exclusivity to freemium mobile games, and how much bad blood UbiSoft has with Nintendo right now, don't hold your breath. Between what would be cool and what corporate politics would get in the way of, coporate politics win every time.
I sure said that!
