Hey guys, my group of friends in Smashboards started streaming a tournament we're doing.

My match is gonna be the first one.

Lucas has his own perks, it's just not as easy to make use of them as it is with Ness. In general Lucas is looking like he'll get major benefits from the mechanics change in Sm4sh so I'm looking forward to see how he does.
At high levels of play, yeah, Lucas wasn't as effective as Ness. I just meant, in general, he was easier to get a grip on in Brawl than Ness was, even if he didn't go as far.

I sure said that!

I remember Lucas easy. Compared to Ness, his moves are so soft...

In Smash 64 I loved Ness for a while because he had such a great meteor smash.

And I had a friend who liked to use Captain Falcon. He would say "Show me your moves!" and I would say "Okay!" and proceed to knock him off my stage. ;p

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay

I've never never never never ever been able to get the hang of Ness's recovery. So I really only played Lucas during SSE in Brawl.

Which is kinda funny because he was my favorite character in there, I was just terribad with him tongue

Why do I always fight a Shulk player in the finals of every tournament I take part in (when I actually reach the finals) lol.

Well, to some extent, considering his quirks, it stands to reason that someone very good at playing Shulk is likely very good at playing the game in general.

Someone put some airhorns on that one.

I'm not quite sure I understand the concept of spacing. Can someone please explain?

Spacing is the practice of keeping the opponent where you want them to be, more or less. Any character can manage it to some degree or another, thanks to Smash's launching mechanics, but it's best done with the aid of projectiles and intelligently timed rolls.

Thanks.

I really need to get practicing. My main is completely dependent on spacing and has no projectiles, so that makes life pretty hard.

Also, thanks for the help with Fire Emblem.

As someone who likes to consider himself a fairly good Shulk player, I can assure you this is not the case.

I tend to play Shulk a lot. The Monado Arts is almost like suddenly swapping to a Moveset Clone character with different properties.

It just seems to give him so much effectiveness.

Though I barely ever use Jump or Speed. I need to learn to utilize them more. And trying to swap to Jump when off stage and not plummeting, backslashing, or cycling to Speed too fast in an attempt to Air Slash is something I need to do.

I use Buster, Shield and Smash a lot. I use Speed too but I'm pretty terrible with it.

I almost exclusively use buster -> smash as Shulk. They just combo way too well.

I don't know how to combo with anyone yet. Need to get practicing.

On the bright side, I'll probably be able to get the Wii U version soon.

The fact that the Buster and Smash arts work with Shulk's Chain Attack final smash is probably one of my more favourite parts.

Speed is the most important art for Shulk, bar none.

It is, and I think I'll actually be okay with Shulk when I can use Speed properly, as opposed to running around like an idiot pressing L whenever I get close to my opponent.
