Anyway, i got my first ever wins in For Glory. The problem is I won against the only two people in the world noobier than me. First was a Fox who clearly had no clue what he was doing and a Lucina (BEGONE FOUL CLONE OF ME!!!) who spammed side-B and seemed to have no idea what a tipper was.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonYeah, Lucina's blade is consistent all the way through while Marth is stronger at the tip, but weaker at the hilt.
Side-specialing with Marth/Lucina is kinda difficult (at least for me) when playing online. The few times I've dabbled with Lucina, anyway. That small amount of lag really throws off my beat for a god awful reason. I'd probably play better if I toned out the sound of Lucina attacking.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorWhen I play Marth casually I just spam side-B infinitely. At least in Brawl, it wrecks my friends 90% of the time.
Online Math is my main but I only use side-B if I know I got my opponent right where I want them. Otherwise I use neutral-B and tilts. I know his smash attacks are good but I always screw up the input and I don't know how to use aerials properly. The best I can do is just get another hit on someone during my recovery.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonToon Link was my main for years, until i realized that I was getting frustrated with never K Oing anyone, ever, even at 120%.
On the other hand it's fun trolling people with projectiles.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonSee, that's what you use Counter for

I never lag with MK 8 either. Strange.

I tried countering but it was always too fast on too slow. By the time I was able to hit the input I was usually in the middle of being comboed for ridiculous damage. The lag does not help either. It ruins my chances of getting tippers.
Definitely learn your counters against Little Macs. A lot of counter moves have their power determined by the offending attack's power. Mac has truck-tier punches. Add some simple math, and Little Mac is sent flying all the way out of the stage.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."My understanding is that Mario Kart 8 doesn't check the other players constantly, just every several parts of a second. It doesn't sound like much, but it lowers the processing load a fair bit, and it can get away with it because of the way racing games inevitably end up spaced out a bit.
Smash, meanwhile, has to keep up with the relative positions of all players constantly, because otherwise the game falls apart.

I sure said that!![]()
I think I might have to do some training against lv 9 Little Macs doing nothing but countering to get the timing down.
I don't know whether it's me or my 3DS by sometimes I use Shield Breaker instead of Counter by accident.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonOr just sub Kirby and/or Dedede for good times
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI had one time where I K Oed a Mac completely by accident by dodgerolling away from a Jolt Haymaker on the edge at the last second. It was funny, because I was getting totally destroyed at that point.
What do I do with Kirby? (I suck major balls as Dedede)
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonI'm glad Little Macs have an incredibly hard time going against Dedede.
Well... I think Little Macs have a hard time going against anyone, actually, but Dedede in particular has so many ways to mess with Mac that he just can't get anything done. All you have to look out for is doing too much damage and triggering his KO Punch but even that is pretty easy to cancel out or avoid.
But yeah Little Macs aren't too difficult. If you've got a counter, just use it when Mac runs at your with a dash attack. Take lag into consideration, so activate it just a split second earlier than you think is best. Alternatively, just shield his dash attacks, and then grab. Watch our for his counter, too.
In general though you shouldn't rely so much on counter. It's only really good for extremely projected attacks, or punishing overly aggressive combo-seekers. You're not gonna use it all too often, especially against the faster guys.

For 3DS: Just get used to tap for Smash attacks, and tilt for strong attacks.
For Wii U: I'd recommend mapping the controls to a certain way. I tried that once.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
