[up][up]Really? That's weird, I've never had that happen to me. And you say it only happens in For Fun, and not four-player For Glory?

[up]I mean, I do too. Just not all the time.

I play for fun because I find the stage variety much more appealing than going into meme territory.

Except for 75m. 75m can burn down in hell.

Gaur Plain to an extent too. Cool stage, great music, love Metalface, but it's a bunch of tiny platforms above a huge hole. The exact problem I have with 75m.

The huge stages, like Gaur and Palutena Temple, are a neat concept, but in practice the camera just zooms away so much that it's hard to make out what is going on.

It'd be cool if there were a camera option for online mode where it just keeps the camera fairly close to your character instead of making sure you can always see every other player.

That's what I wanted. A close-up mode where you can still see enough on the sides to fight.

The whole camera staying relatively close to yourself sounds useful, but it probably works against you as well. Not knowing how far exactly the other guy is would be a huge hinderance.

So yeah, huge stages are neat when everyone isn't half across the globe from each other. But more often than not, they are.

Conclusion: there seems to be some strange community mindset of "Nobody fight! First one to fight is everyone's enemy!" going on.

...You're only now discovering this? Smash Wi-fi has been like that since Brawl.

It's been a long time since I experienced Brawl's online, but I do remember having real fights back when the game was released. I know there were taunt parties, but I never partook in one.

Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.

Did Brawl's online have unlimited taunting? It bugs me a bit that Smash 4 limits you to two taunts per match (not counting sudden-deaths).

Definitely. It probably goes without saying that there weren't any real penalties at all, in fact.

As for 4, I believe three's the actual cap. That seems to be the case for FG, anyway.

You get two to start with, plus one for every K.O. you score.

I tend to rub it in the opponent's face with the taunts. Even if I just launch them, I still take the opportunity because it's silly. Using Falcon's down taunt after a multi-jab combo has become sort of a habit.

I had no idea there was a limit, but then I almost never taunt.

I don't even have any tauntmessages tongue

[up][up]With an overall cap of two, in fact. You can't store three taunts, so use one up before you get that first KO.

I only really manage it if I'm faking someone out with Clay Shooting and Duck Hunt's side taunt, though.

I sure said that!

Everyone I played against online seemed to really not like being on the receiving end of a taunt, especially when it came from "cute" characters like Yoshi (Purple) who is one of my mains. They always got considerably more aggressive.

Too bad Kirby has to score a KO before he can toss his hat away and get a new one.

Kirby suffers a bit from that Taunt limit, but it's no big.

Well no other fighter can copy other fighters' attacks and nothing can hurt you when you're Stoned.

You can still get grabbed, but people tend to forget about that.

I forget Kirby can copy sometimes. Usually I use it for Kirbycide. The reaction of certain people after they lose a stock to it is priceless. Especially if I live.

Haven't played much Smash since I decided Kirby might be my secondary, but when I use him I usually rely on his main abilities more than copying.

When I do copy, I don't usually get rid of it except maybe in 4v4 when I decided to mix it up a little. So as far as I'm concerned the taunt-cap isn't a real problem for Kirby. Though now I want to see if the cap really does prevent disposal of abilities or not...

I don't always play with Kirby, but when I do, I don't usually use Copying very much either, unless I decide to do so on a whim.

I find that swallowing and spitting the opponent has more consistent uses, particularly with more than one opponent but also in 1v1. At the very least, doing it repeatedly tends to annoy the opponent into making mistakes. tongue

I think that's the type of tactic I want to use, annoy the opponent into making bad decisions, but I'm not sure how to do this with the characters I play. Except maybe Pit, since I can edgeguard with his arrows fairly consistently.
