I did like SSE, too. It has it's flaws, but it's still reasonably fun. IMO, it's better when you play with another person.
Smash Run, I think, is a worthy successor. The only gripe I have about it some of the enemies (especially the Plasma Wisps) occasionally being rather cheap. That and the Ornes.
"I'm glad I don't wear shoes or else I'd have to always get shoes in two different sizes. ...If you know, you know!"I thought the SSE was alright. I didn't find the platforming that bad, and I thought some of the OG enemies were pretty cool (especially Galleom), though some enemies from the existing franchises besides Mario would have been nice. There were obviously some things that could have improved it (step 1: remove The Great Maze), but I thought it did well enough for a first attempt. Hopefully we'll get a better story mode in Smash 5.

I liked it, but it suffers a lot from coming after an already very long set of linear levels. I'd have preferred it if it were just one or the other.

You keep taking us calling you one of the best around like a mere compliment when I'm pretty sure we're all very much just stating facts.

I sure said that!@SSE: I loved it the first time, in part because it was all shiny and new and I really liked the adventure mode from what little I played of Melee. My only real complaint was that it started to drag on for a bit. But I haven't played it in forever
I did like the great maze though, at least in my experience the fact it was made from all the bits that were sucked into Subspace made it pretty cool. And you could save and come back later at any point in the stage helped compared to all the other levels were you had to finish it in one sitting.
Smash run makes a great replacement on SSE, and it does it's job pretty good. Though that 5 minute timer never seems to give me enough time to do what I want...
I noticed, that was kinda funny how he tacked that on there right at the end
My issues with Subspace are that it's boring and not really inspired. It's too long to be acceptable (like, the last level should have been the Subspace level with Kirby, and then we get the cutscene with Sonic). I do agree that it should have used actual Nintendo mooks (like, Ganondorf and Ridley would also have minions to spare, and surprisingly Kirby enemies are absent (I can get why Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos couldn't be enemies, but any other Kirby enemy would've worked).
So, my friend's in the minority when it comes to her opinions favoring the Original Generation mooks over using actual Nintendo mooks in Subspace?
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!There is an Awkward Zombie comic very relevant to this conversation, but I can't remember which one...
Moved handles because meh

I think Smash Run is better because it still provides the Kirby-esque gameplay that Subspace did and is much shorter and faster paced to boot. It still takes place in a rather neutral setting, but it's balanced out by the loads of enemies from Nintendo franchises and then some. Even the return of a few of the SSE enemies didn't matter thanks to the presence of baddies such as Eggrobos, Mettaurs, Plasma Wisps, Stalfoses, the works.
On another note, I'll add both Samuses on the "extremely annoying to fight" camp. Spamus because of, well, spamming, and ZSS because of that neutral B + down throw + up air + up B combo that always gets me for whatever reason.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.
